clairevmc Weather was really really warm and sunny. Had my sunglasses on for the first time this year. Got a PB of 47 secs which I'm really pleased with. Think I started off too fast though - going through the first mile in 5.59 and then 6.10 for the next and 6.20s or so up to half way. Dropped the pace a bit as it got warmer and slightly hillier then picked back up to goal pace of 6.30s but couldn't quite hold on and get back all the time I'd lost. Feel I could have run a bit faster if I'd paced it correctly - struggled a bit in the heat (15oC and considering it was snowing at home 7 days ago, no wonder I was hot). Think I was 9th female. Mr. K. Started a bit too quick, knew the heat (19C) would slow me down. Only 49 sec outside my best - not bad as more undulating the Draycote Waters. Good race & nice medal. Cove Joggers, Windle Valley Runners 1:38:00 1:42:56 1:46:44 56.02
