hillstrider First time I have run this race. A nice quiet route, but a bit disappointed with time. Hardley Runners 35:52 47:01 48:00 48:25 67.02
Windsurfin' Susie I'd run 83 miles in the previous 7 days. It's not that fast a course with some tricky ups and downs in the last half. It was quite humid although not that hot: 18C. We had quite a breeze in our faces on the far side of the course. Yet again I found myself up against a Winchester elite lady, this time Kathy Bailey. Those are the excuses.// I ran a pretty controlled race, letting a couple of women get away from me at the beginning and reeling them back in as the race progressed. Splits: 4:11, 4:12, 4:05, 4:09, 4:13, 4:12, 4:18, 4:21, 4:15, 4:07 - 42:08 - a PB by over a minute (previous PB was in April). 3rd lady and 1st W40. Not bad considering! Kathy Bailey won in 36 something. She reckons she lost a minute in the last half such was the nature of the course. Victory AC 41:29 42:08 42:08 75.38
