april_runner I should be capable of this improvement on my PB (if my recent 5 mile times are anything to go by) but the conditions need to be right - none of that gusty fenland wind in exposed areas, for a start! Cambridge & Coleridge AC 38:55 40:03 40:30 40:03 74.20

BlueWombat Time is a best for 2007, and hoping for 5 minutes off this for 2008! Took part in a mad dash over the last 200m or so that was quite exciting. Cambridge & Coleridge AC, Cambridge University Hare & Hounds 42:37 47:46 47:46 59.68
Charlie Chaplin Hoping to beat my PB of 47:10 BRJ Run and Tri 46:52 48:00 47:00 48:00 61.38
daveski Hard work, lost speed, faded badly! Cambridge & Coleridge AC 41:29 43:37 45:00 45:45 60.35
DrBob not a bad race, set off quick and then tried to keep the pace going with the help of regular reminders from my new Garmin. Just as well really, bit slower than I'd really have liked to go. Cambridge & Coleridge AC 31:04 37:36 37:30 37:36 77.06
EarlyRiser Ooer.. a bet placed on my performance. Talk about stress! Lol. :-) Seriously, if things go well, if the new shoes don't cause me grief, if my mind is screwed on, then yes 45 minutes is just about possible. I'll nip behind a fast club colleague and try to hang on! POST-Race: Result better than target! Cold day only light breeze. Ran fine no problems at all. Fast splits first 2k, then pretty much on target and a good finish. A good run! Unaffiliated 43:07 44:23 45:00 44:23 65.83

Girlie Not sure what time I will do for this. The hill at the end means sub 60 is unlikely. Have been challenged by Farby to go sub 60, so will make an attempt! Haven't really run much since NY, not confident of my fitness but am going to give it my best shot before FLM training starts.
***UPDATE*** lack of training and race fitness really showed with a spectacular PW. Enjoyed race though and would do it again. I can't possibly get any worse, can I? Lonely Goat RC 57:56 1:01:25 1:01:00 1:07:02 46.07
GOM. Official time, only a second difference between this and my watch time. Am still really pleased with the result. Ely Tri Club 43:19 43:19 44:30 43:19 62.40
green-40 did a calf muscle while trainning on Christmas Eve which meant no more trainning and was genuinely worried about whether I would make it today but the physio and hot baths paid off so really happy had I been able to train over the last week I am sure I would have got a bit better time, always next year! HotFeetJules Set off too fast in the first half, my own fault. Had a cold too so didn't think a good time likely!

kiki.d Being realisitic but hopefully will get a better time after a few cross country races. Would like to improve on my 47min PB. Not a PB but 39th woman and 11th in F40 category, so am feeling quite pleased with result. Now gives me something to aim for in 2008! Saffron Striders RC 47:19 48:27 50:00 48:27 64.57
KinkyS Unsurprisingly not a PB after yesterday's exertions, but only 3 seconds slower than last year, and last year I didn't run a 5M PB the day before, so I must be getting stronger, right? Legs hurt from the start but really enjoyed the morning, and a perfectly respectable time too :-) Todmorden Harriers & AC 40:05 43:44 45:33 65.37
Metal Martin Not the PB I would have liked, but since Dublin my times have been really slow and this is the first run where I haven't had a really weak point, so it gives me something to build on. Really well organised event, thoroughly enjoyed it. Thorney Running Club, Thorney RC 48:22 48:22 48:00 54:22 51.60

Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs) A really good race which was well organised apart from toilet facilities, they were a bit lacking for 700 runners. I was well pleased with my time and chuffed to be 15th lady to finish and to win my age category, what a great way to end the year! I will definitely do this one next year! PhatButFit WTF might as well go for it, be nice to get a final PB in 2007, dunno if that's possible but we'll give it a go. UPDATE: Great race, loved every minute, completely knackered at the end though. Good to see all you Fetchies. Unaffiliated 43:23 43:23 42:30 43:23 63.65

Vicksta Really pleased with the result, better than I was hoping for. Great race, perfect conditions, the 'hill' at 8Km wasn't as bad as expected. Nice to meet quite a few fetchies, couldn't make the pub afterwards, but I hope you all had a good time. Oh, and I totally mashed my 5K PB enroute...I'll have to find a 5K to run soon!
Results: 25th Woman out of 210, 10th Senior Woman, WAVA points of 64.29. Harlow RC 44:17 46:32 48:30 46:32 64.38
Vindicator Went off far to hard (sub 4min for 1st 2 KM's). Reverted to PB pace hoping to hold it and keep gains, but started to slip to 4:25's. I was left with far much to do at the top of the hill. I settled for coming home inside 43mins and was conservitive on the finish - could have come in ~42:40/45. Had I not gone off too fast, it would have been close - sorry PB betters. Harlow RC 40:21 42:19 42:18 42:56 61.85
Vitalstatistix Hoping to run 36mins or thereabouts - not quite in PB form, but not in bad shape either - depends how hard I push Saturday's longer run and how windy it is on the day (last year was a headwind for the last 5K).

Post-race. Perfect conditions out there, last couple of miles weren't as good as they could have been, but pretty pleased to be in that sort of shape on 31st Dec anyway. Bedford Harriers AC 34:44 34:44 36:00 35:40 76.81
