Ribenaface (RFSQL) Best race I have ever done by 33 country miles - where else would you get a big chocolate medal and a specially labelled bottle of great beer thrust in your hands at the end? Total genius. Marshalls were fab, thanks to Thistle (right?) for taking my can of Irn Bru to the half way checkpoint for me. Course is ace, varied enough to break up the miles. Couldn't stop smiling, all the other runners were super friendly too. I started too fast (blame _andy) but stuck with it for the most part I think, so I'm pleased with it. Russell M D33 Ultra!! Went off quite fast then realised after about 12 min that I hadn't started my watch, d'oh! Felt strong and pushed on through passed several people and went through half-way at 2:05. Started struggling on the way back in, legs felt very heavy but managed to get to marathon distance at a shade under 3:30 which was really unexpected. Cramp kicked in in the last 6 miles though, stopped a couple of times to stretch out but then just had to run on through it. Managed to pass a guy just as I was coming into the park so I reckon I must have been about 18th or 19th so about the same position as half-way, looking forward to the results though as exact time and position are a guess :) Motherwell AC 4:32:00 4:32:00 6:00:00 4:32:00 59.41
