Cupar 5 Mile Road Race

Entrants (10) Club PB SB Pred Time WAVA
Boab Pleased with new PB. Out and back course on country roads. The spread at the end looked good, but I am on a chinese tonight, so not wanting to waste my appetite, while everyone was tucking into those cakes, I was doing a two mile cool down!!!
What position was the horse BTW? Unaffiliated 26:05 27:29 27:29 77.19
cake muncher Absolute mince - felt terrible from around 2 miles. Could have done with jumping on the back of the horse as it went by. Oh well back to the drawing board! Falkland Trail Runners 25:06 28:19 28:50 76.78
Dave_K This was off my watch so it might change. Really felt heavy for the 1st mile. Still feeling it from Lasswade last week. Glad the rain held off for the race. Pleased with my time and a good loosen up for Alloa next week. Nice tea afterwards. Another good event from Fife AC Unaffiliated 40:34 40:45 45:00 40:45 54.33
Debstir Really chuffed with today's time. Got to the race feeling lethargic and with a sore head... and got a PB! Unaffiliated 39:58 40:39 41:39 57.72
Enigma I enjoyed the race and am really pleased at beating the 35 minute mark. A nice chunk off of my PB there, just as well given there were 2545 points bet on me. Thanks for the confidence folks. The race itself was enjoyable, the headwind was tough and I rounded the halfway mark at 17:15 so I knew that sub 35 mins was on the cards. I tired in the last mile or so, but given my lack of running in the past month I'm really pleased. Unaffiliated 31:46 31:46 35:00 34:03 62.30
jp105 Sorry folks who had a fetch bet on me....just missed out on P.B by one second :-(
Started this race a bit slowly and built into it. Increased the pace on the second half and just passed magoo in the final stages. Carnegie Harriers 28:06 28:07 27:59 28:07 74.93

Plussing As Which Wasn't too sure what to expect from this race as thought I might struggle to find any speed. However, after a rest day on Friday, legs felt good and I had a great time! Probably the best paced race I've ever done - tough into the wind on the way out but getting stronger and stronger on the return journey. Rewarded with huge PB and 3rd lady. Still unofficial time as provisional results have diddled me out of 5 secs and 1 place! Unaffiliated 31:03 31:03 31:20 76.72
Supervixen Good race well organsied, went off too fast and paid the price towards the end. Will learn from this for next week. V. good feed at the end as always. Sorry to those peeps who bet on me. :( Unaffiliated 45:44 47:45 47:45 51.12
