DANBERT Bloody hell that was tough going. I really enjoyed the race but my god i found it tough. I started quite near the back of the field on the old railway trail and held my position for the first mile. Once we hit the really muddy fields i amazingly started to overtake people. Luckily i was wearing studded fell shoes as those in trail and road shoes were having a terrible time. The constant hold ups at the stiles were a bit of an irritation - but i guess it's the same for everyone. By the time we got to the stony trail in the woods which led upto the gritty fell section i was absolutely shot. I must say though, that I quite enjoyed the long slippery downhill through the woods. I'd love to do this race again in different underfoot conditions - maybe next year eh? well done the Congleton club thanks for your time. Rochdale Harriers & AC 1:24:30 1:24:30 1:24:30 46.88
