Left Foot Delighted with a new PB by 11 minutes (and half an hour faster than my last two marathons!) Arrived early, got to the front of the pen and found a 3:45 pace group. Beautiful scenic course around city, lakes, parks and lovely tree-lined residential area. Spectators were fantastic and weather was sunny and gorgeous. Ran a pretty even race (first half 1:51:33, second half 1:53:53) Pace was very comfortable but exhilarating -- until the last 3 or 4 miles where I suddenly had to fight quite a bit harder for it. Toughed it out and put on a spurt when I saw the finish line and realized I hadn't actually blown it. I did my best and am very, very happy with the time. (See blog soon for more details!) St. Pauli Girl Darn those pesky seconds!! I really enjoyed this race - lots of fun, and I love the fact that there is plenty of interesting scenery - the Reeperbahn, the harbour, the lakes. Also a very supportive crowd. The last 5-8km were really tough - much tougher than I remember from last year, but on the whole, enjoyed the experience. And I managed to avoid geting blisters on my feet and managed to hang on to my toenails this time :) Unaffiliated 3:52:30 4:00:34 3:45:00 4:00:34 55.69
