Beejay After yesterdays 22.5 miler I had planned to run this as a recovery run. My legs felt a bit trashed this morning and I wasnt really in the mood for running. Tried a little warm up and my legs felt tired and my left knee hurt. BUT...... when the starter said `Go`and i started nice and easy, i felt much better and didnt really enjoy people overtaking me. So I picked up the pace and just went with the flow.

Result.....enjoyed the hills for the first 4.5 miles, pushed hard on the downhills, dug in on the final uphill mile and mustered a bit of a sprint finish from somewhere. Finished in a pleasing 1hr 19m 29s which was faster than I would dare hope, so I am well chuffed, as it is such a hard course.

Legs feel a bit wrecked now, so I cant see me running tomorrow :) Southwell RC 1:08:59 1:19:26 1:19:26 56.45

Swimming Is Easier Driving over to this race I became even more scared of the hills and wished I'd done some hill training!! However, I loved every minute of this race. The hills in the first 5 miles were tough, but I managed to keep going and save some energy to speed up in the last 5 miles. first mile split was 10:05; third mile was 32:20 ish; 6 miles was 1:01; 7 miles was 1:10; 8 miles was 1:18:40, then managed the last hill but suffered for it in the last mile.
I think my brain was a bit addled, as I managed to turn left into the first aid area instead of the finish (?!) so had to run back out again to the amusement of the marshals!!

The race was well organised, marshals were great, and I will DEFINITELY will do this one again. Manchester Tri 1:32:39 1:32:39 1:50:00 1:38:12 50.25
Trehis A great hilly race, loved flying down the second half of the course even withe incline in the last mile. Mansfield Harriers & AC 1:06:43 1:16:48 1:16:48 61.48
