The_Saint The Garmin http://tinyurl.com/yu4t29 said 6.52 miles or 10.5 KM, that has to be classed as very disappointing, two other Garmin users recorded 6.54 miles. I wonder whether if there is general agreement we could ask for this race to change to a Non-PB race or have the distance amended. Have run it 3 years in a row, doubt that I will run it next time. Is Aiming to go sub-50 again. S-l-o-w... Ran it two years ago, with a sprained ankle and flu, in 51 something. So this was, um, gutting. Tatws My splits were good up until the 3km and the 7th km. This threw me off the time and affected my mind in trying to get my PB. 4:12, 4:31, 6:00, 4:58, 4:46, 4:48, 6:23, 4:45, 4:46, 4:34 This run was longer than advertised and I have adjusted my time accordingly to 47 mins FERC 47:07 47:07 50:00 47:07 56.36
The running poet A slow time but then my Garmin did read 6.57 at the end instead of the expected 6.21. Also, I haven't run at all for the last three weeks or so as my left calf has been injured so I decided just to jog around and see if I could cover the distance comfortably without my calf 'popping' again. Got to 25 minutes and the calf tightened up but I kept going at a steady pace and even managed a last push along the final long straight. In 2006, the start/finish for this race was much further up the long straight towards Cardiff so maybe they put the start/finish in the wrong place this year. FERC 48:16 53:31 54:00 56:10 52.90
