expatria Low-balled my prediction due to not having trained much. Summer/early Fall filled with drama of getting married and shifting self 3600 miles east. Usually I'd be running the LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon today. *Sniff*

Nick99 Nice to finish in the stadium, my first time there. But why was the video screen showing football?!?!? Crap medal presentation, loose in plastic bag with box, no neck ribbon. Friendly crowd, thanks Cardiff, tell 'em to start it at 10am next year!!

Lousy nights sleep before plus too much red wine PLUS 8.15 am start (!) = me feeling crap at mile four. All self inflicted, doh! Felt like I was going to puke for a few miles, settled down by mile 10 or so but knew I was just trudging by then. No chance of getting anywhere near my 1'34 pb even though this course was flat. Glad I wore a heavier top than normal, was chilly! 493rd in (time) of 4252. New Forest Runners 1:34:38 1:34:38 1:30:00 1:39:52 58.93

Schmunkee This is going to be my first competitive run. Have only ever run 10k on a treadmill before!

Absolutely fantastic - appreciated the early start so I did not suffer nerves for too long! Brilliant course and a comfortable run. No complaint on pre-run or during the run, but think there could be better organisation for collecting medals. Basically was everyone bundling into single file to collect medal from booth. Took half an hour by which time you had cooled down completely with only a foil blanket. This was also the only way to get to collect your baggage so no chance of collecting your towel or pulling on a tracksuit before you picked up medal. Also bit disappointed there was no ribbon (just a little thing, I know) but I was expecting to cross the finsihing line and have a medal thrown around my neck. Guess that was just a naive and romantic notion!! Swindon Harriers, Pirate Ship Of Fools 2:33:12 2:33:12 2:30:00 2:33:12 43.33

taulpaul New PB for me so am well happy. A fantastic varied flat course with nothing particulary challenging. Obviously the finish gives you a real buzz. Would have been nice to hear some loud music when entering but can't really complain with this race. Birmingham Swifts 1:33:28 1:34:53 1:34:53 61.84

WildeRover Was expecting to get a breath under 2 hours on chip time, but probably over 2 hours on gun time. In the end was well under on both, so really pleased.

Didn't like the streets around Taff Embankment, but the rest of the course was great. Managed to keep going for the last couple of miles determined to stay ahead of the giant carrot that was following me.

Must sort out the medal hand-out for last year. Put it on a ribbon and stick it round our necks just after the finish line!! Lliswerry Runners 1:38:44 1:55:37 2:00:00 1:55:37 50.75
