Bazoaxe Cold day ,solid first mile, tough second mile up hill...cruised downhill for 3rd mile and a decent time considering we ran up a steep hill

M1 6.43
M2 7.20
M3 5.48

Organisation a shambles - I thought the orange group were the sub 20 finishers, got at the very front of the white group, and before we reached half a K was catching people walking, moving very slowly and generally making it hard to run at my own pace up the hill as I had to weave in and out, onto the grass or check my stride. Staggerred starts need to be in paced groups, nit randow batches - Poor show. Unaffiliated 18:25 20:33 20:00 20:33 65.85

Fergus Wasn't expecting this to be hilly. Even so it was a poor time - can't really blame having to squeeze past hundreds of folk, just not fit enough. Unaffiliated 22:25 22:25 21:00 22:25 58.64
freeby Great day for a race, only spoiled by shambolic organisation as noted by others. I'm not huge but hate the fact that they don't supply XL t shirts! Pleased with my time though given the hill and lack of recent training (and sleep!) after baby number two! jogscotland 27:45 27:45 35:00 31:04 43.56

jamborigg Not very impressed with this race ,why on earth have the slow runners start first ,by the time i got to the hillthey were mostly shuffling up it .Which only made it harder to pass them .Bit of a strange starting system Lothian RC 17:35 18:46 22:00 19:12 70.48

senga the trolly dolly Great day for a run, but organisation at the start left a little to be desired. Too many people in the wrong grouping, crushed into to tight a starting area meant that the first Km was reduced to a dawdle.
There was little marshalling at the start with late arrivals pushing thro the side barriers making it all quite hazardous.
Signage around the event was limited - couldn't see anything to indicate the Registration / Number collection point.
site maps are fine, but when you are getting ready for a race you want simple clear directions.
And then at the finish the clock wasn't operating.
Given that we'd shelled out £20.00 for this 5km run a little more attention to detail would not have gone amiss.
A wee bit disappointed with my time as I felt I'd really pushed hard up the hill and seemed to be running at a fair lick down the home run. Fife AC 23:43 23:43 25:00 25:10 64.11

Tigerlily Killer! I didn't realise we ran UP Arthur's Seat. Was late getting through to Edinburgh and was in a portaloo when the elite runners went off. Freezing cold day, but gorgeous winter sunshine. I ran/walked this and didn't care what time I did, I just wanted to finish. Vowed never again, but probably will!
