Gus Good race, well organised.
According to my garmin, best for a year. More tomorrow I'm off to get some grub :)
The guys from my jogscotland group were well pleased with the goody bag for their first race. Didn't see any other Fetch shirts on show, although there were a few entered. Jogscotland On The Run Cumbernauld 31:13 31:49 33:00 31:51 52.33
kyt Happy enough with the time on a twisty course on my 1st 5k (2 garmins showed 5.11k). Slower than some 10k splits. Usual loss to young buck yano, if only by a second this time. For 2 quid we received an engraved medal, a carton of fresh orange juice, a biscuit, a mizuno water bottle and spot prizes if you were lucky. can this be beaten? bargain of the year. pretty good atmosphere, with loads of school kids running. 1st PB of the year... 23/147 fixing wee results mix-up Unaffiliated 19:49 19:49 19:59 19:49 66.81
senga the trolly dolly A wee bit better this time, but the race was supposed to be for beginners - I was 10 min behind the winner!!!!!!!!!! Fife AC 23:43 24:03 26:00 25:29 63.32
Supervixen Not ran a 5k for a while, so dont expect to PB, esspecially after 1/2 marathon on Saturday. No bets please. How wrong can I be!! Unaffiliated 24:34 24:34 27:00 25:07 59.95
Ticketyboo Credit must go to Kirkintilloch Olympians for putting on this very well organised wee race and if there is a race that is better value for money I have still to find it. Struggled right from the start after a heavy weeks training and never really got going finishing in 10th place just behind Guiseppe. Vic Mason I would just like to take this opportunity to congratulate Robert Rogerson and the support of all enthusiastic volunteers / race marshals from Kirkintilloch Olympians for a very well organised and enjoyable 5k race at Broadwood Stadium on Thursday night. For the modest £2 entry fee, facilities were second to none as was goodie bag. Well done to all. Finished 20th - well chuffed and also under 20 minutes. PB albeit this was my 1st 5k. Yano My first ever 5k race and the first time also for this Broadwood 5k organised by the Kirkintilloch Olympians. This was an excellent race, starting at the sports stadium and following mainly off road on tarmac paths around Broadwood Loch. Unbeatable value - medal, goody bag and great organisation for 2 Scottish Pounds! Been having back problems and very little running for past 3 weeks so pleased with the outcome. I ran the 2nd half of Dumbarton 10k faster this year, but this course had some twists and turns to slow us down. Felt breathless most of the way. Sprint finish with kyt :) Results mix up at end, so somewhere between 20th and 22nd out of 147. Unaffiliated 19:44 19:44 20:00 19:44 65.82
