Kev Scone
4.40.21 happy enough with that as course was tougher than i expected, was glad of ipod from mile 16 when knee started hurting a bit and all the words of encouragement from spectators and fellow runners were welcome, well done to the Freemasons marshalling and for the prizes

Goody bag was a bit sparse but don't let this minor criticism detract from a superbly organised event, hope it is revived so get a chance to beat the time once a few more maras under my belt! Howgill Harriers 4:08:33 4:40:21 4:40:21 43.49

The Belly Is Gaun Tae Get Ye Hoping to take ten MIN from my pb at Lochaber last year.

This will be my thrid marathon in three years.
UPDATE- Collect your credits folks. A 13.5 min PB. Felt great until about mile 14 this lasted through to 20M. .From 21 on started to pull back a lot of runners and kept it going to end. Only now starting to sink in that I have run a sub 3.45 mara. At start kept telling myself to hold back and let my body clock take over, it served me well but the steep hills in the 2nd half confused it somewhat. All in all a fantastic event, great weather and niceto meet a few of you at the start and finish.
Off to sink some lovely Belgian beer now. Ride 63 3:37:59 3:43:59 3:48:00 3:43:59 55.59
Marcus I loved this race! Superb event, great course, fantastic weather, lovely people, and the great Joss Naylor presenting the prizes. Wow. Prediction was a bit off but hey. Next marathon is Snowdonia and I will be racing that one.

Wot I wrote beforehand: Doing this as a fun run as it's bang slap in the middle of my 5K purple patch. Still expect to beat my PB though as that was set in my only previous marathon - the Snowdonia. Vale Royal AC, Fell Runners Association 3:03:44 3:18:58 3:50:00 3:27:48 60.33

trazza Got no idea - my first marathon - would love to do it in under 3:45.00 but depends on training and injuries! I love the lakes...

Lisrun My first marathon *After* Over the moon with my time ! Course was tougher than I expected, very few flat sections and to my surprise everything was going great until 21m when we were faced by second biggest hill on the route. It finished me off and I ran pretty slowly after that. Well organised and good fun. As Kev has said the goody bag was a little disappointing, but apart from that an excellent event. 100 Marathon Club, North East Marathon Club 3:53:11 4:13:59 5:00:00 4:13:59 56.09

Stepford Wife Eek, what have I done? Not enough training? Not enough long runs? I just hope it's not too hot. Still, if I don't like it I don't ever have to do another but this way at least I will have tried. Prediction? Who knows really. More a get round and don't die time. *update* Whee hee! What a course, what a day! And it was as bad and as good as I feared and hoped. Quite happy with the time given the course Fell Runners Association 5:19:16 5:19:16 6:00:00 5:19:16 42.13
Lady Sol A 46 minute 7 second pb :)

Thanks to the Trailwalker team for letting me join them at the start. I lost them at 8 miles. But since they were going at sub 10K pace for me it wasn't really surprising. My knees couldn't cope with their pace on the downhills and it was taking too much of the uphills to catch back up again. Tried to follow the same strategy of walking the ups and running the downhills, being overtaken by all the people we had past before.

Ended up walking most of the last 5 miles. I was running 20 minute miles and walking 17 minute miles, so decided to stick to the walking, with speed bursts for the downhills. Was just aiming for sub 6 hours at that point.

Can't really walk today today, and anything with a gradient is definately out. Anstey Amblers and Runners 5:23:16 5:23:16 6:00:00 5:51:30 38.11
