Drifter Never hit target pace into the wind, and then slowed down coming back, not a very good race if viewed against target, but a pb in a stiff breeze, not bad. Driffield Striders 1:19:54 1:23:36 1:21:00 1:23:36 73.86

Should Av Run Quicker Looking forward to this, as it's meant to be flat and fast, going all out for a PB.
*Update* Well what a windy day which seemed to be a headwind and head/cross wind for 8 miles, felt pretty good most of the but lost a bit of steam in the last 3 miles, I knew a few other club members where behind me so it helped pushing on as much as I could, a PB by over 1 minute. sue c Very breezy!
Happy with my race, decided not to race all out but so run relaxed and consistently. Started slow and was a bit conjested but felt fine. Miles 3-7 very exposed and windy and lost time here but felt great, really strong and relaxed. From then on I ran evenly but my splits picked up to 7.20's. Last mile was sub 7 and windy tho.
Can knock off 60-90 sec if an all out race and less windy but still very happy to run a PB and to have more to come. Rothwell & District Harriers 1:34:09 1:37:20 1:40:00 1:37:20 66.88

Baldy Dave I think this one has come round too quickly for me to run a PB no matter how flat it is.

Northern Exile Looking forward to this, my major challenge is to run a sub-1:35 half-marathon and there's no better place to try and do it than the Brass Monkey, however I have to be realistic and my target is 1:36.30 and that will probably kill me - anything less will be a bonus. The last two years I've ran around 1:38.30 here, so that's a lot to make up ... I will be training hard to make it a reality.

Stop Press: It was windy, I was off-form. Sorry to all those who bet on me .... not a PB I'm afraid. Settle Harriers, North Leeds Fell Runners 1:38:25 1:39:21 1:36:30 1:39:21 63.20

Cavey This is watch time, so official time will be 10-20 secs slower. A superb race and faultless in every respect!! Was hoping for a PB at least and sub 1:45 at best. In the end I was a bit gutted not to dip under 1:40. Maybe at Reading!! Handsworth Roadhogs RC 1:37:46 1:37:46 1:40:34 57.65

Mushroom Yahoo..!! (other search engines are available..) A new PB..!

First time I've thought I was in with a chance for many years. Took the first 2 or 3 miles steady to see what pace I was settling at and happy to find I was on course for about 1:50. Managed to keep the pace going all the way round, not without a lot of help from a nice lady called Fiona from Newcastle. Vegetarian Cycling & AC 1:48:15 1:48:15 2:00:00 1:48:15 54.54

Complete lack of training and lack of pre-race fuel told a simple tale for this run which was 10 mins outside my pb.

philbo Nice 1 , cheque cashed so I'm in looking forward to it now. *** Just couldn't muster the little extra speed to knock the 18secs off for a PB , but if I'm truthful I'm happy with the run, not done the distance since last years GNR due to injury and no pain from it so that's another plus, course was OK a bit of water on the sides of the roads but with the amount of rain we've had that was expected, a big well done to the Knavesmire Harries for the organisation, loads of marshalls round the course all shouting encouragement which was appreciated especially in the later stages, happy with the outcome and i hope i won the fetches who bet on me some points ;-).*** Unaffiliated 1:57:38 2:09:35 2:17:00 2:09:35 49.28

suzeedee What a fab race! Brilliant marshalls and lots of really friendly people. Felt great until 10 miles and then lack of training and experience showed itself and my legs turned to lead. Still got a pb and just under my predicted time -so hopefully I've kept everyone who bet on me happy!! I'll definately be back again next year!! Now- let me go find another race to do! TooLilac Blimey - cheque's cashed, I'm IN!!!! this will be my 1st HM, training is going ok so far but I'm super slow.
********UPDATE*************
My first, and I think, my last H-M. Felt pretty rubbish from the start and by mile 3, knew I had no business running today. Hurt all the way round, and am surprised I finished. Even more shocked that I came in 10 mins faster than my prediction!
The organisation was incredible and the marshalls we really encouraging and helpful. Lots of friendly runners and a chance to meet some fab Fetchies. Wish I'd been able to come to the pub.
Feel like I earned that sweatshirt with blood and sweat! Still, raised quite a bit for Jane's Appeal so am dead chuffed about that!!! Unaffiliated 2:05:31 2:19:52 2:44:00 2:19:52 46.54
