tinebeest Blaythorne 10: (note: time based on my watch, official results not up yet- will change if nec.)

- 10:14: downhill, the very last person and chatting to somebody. Oops! We're off! Should concentrate more!
- 10:51: no down hill, chatting partner decides to pull ahead because she's now warmed up, I decide this pace suits me for the moment.
- 11:12: that's more my tempo for this sort of distance. Overtaking a few people on an uphill section
- 10:50: legs start to feel strangely empty, can't wait for sugar from sweets to kick in, but that takes a while... Should have eaten that sandwich I brought along before the start.
- 13:00: this had a nice downhill, followed by a killer uphill. I walked, got passed by Newquay person, well done to him for running up that hill!
- 11:38: feeling less empty in the legs, fortunately only very mild undulations to be seen here (aka flat in Cornish)
- 12:18: Stretch and walk, wait for club mate who's 10-20 yards behind me, but we decide to go our own ways before we get to mile 7, I seem to have a bit more left in the tank than he does.
- 12:50: walked slowly through water station, just kept it going. Realised I could do a sub 2hr run if I managed to keep on going without too much walking. Person ahead of me kisses the 8 mile marker, I know what she feels like!
- 11:39 there was a nice long downhill slope here, so I just go go go! Overtake the two Hayle ladies who've been tantalisingly close since mile 6 or 7! I'm on a roll, and overtake the Newquay runner who'd passed me in mile 5 just before the 9mile marker! I keep all of them behind me!
- 12:41 This one hurt. It's Cornwall, and we specialise in uphill finishes it seems. The final mile is winding along small roads, can't see more than 20yards ahead and it takes forever. Finally I see the finish line and push out what's left, overtaking another person who'd been in front of me for miles and miles.

Total: 1hr 57min and a bit of change, hooray! Under 2 hours, happy enough with that. Unaffiliated 1:52:12 1:57:24 1:57:24 41.77
