Pllumby Blackpool Half Marathon. 538/1040. Hellishly hot. Was 20c at 9am and seemed to get hotter. Set off OK and kept to sub 9 min miles. Realised at around 8 miles that I couldn't keep it up. The bright white concrete, no breeze and heat of the lower walk of the prom took its toll and I had to slow it down. samsoness My first half marathon. Chose this one because it is the flattest half marathon, and I am definitely not a hill runner. Am predicting my time by previous races, and hope to come in under this but as I have never run this far before, will be happy just to complete it. Completed it! Was exactly how I expected it be - long and flat(ish). Was a bit disappointed with my time but had to keep stopping to walk so couldn't really expect anything else.
