Ronners I would have been slightly faster but i stopped to give a Big Issue Seller £2 just off Colmore Row. I then had to explain to him that i did not actually want a copy of the Big Issue as i was running. I would have thought the fact that i was wearing my running gear and had a big number on my front should have made it obvious but hey, he's probably homeless for a reason..... eL Bee! Birmingham Half Marathon - run with Homer
Stunning - really enjoyed this. It's a pleasantly undulating course with a really nice fast finish.
Running in company was simply the best. As I wasn't really sure how I was going to run this. So I HAD a goal!

pudding monster I didn't have the best preparation for this race having done the cross-country the day before and then had a big night out so I was very pleased my run today. Thought it was well organised for a first attempt (will definitely be back next year). I know it was urban and undulating but I really enjoyed the route - maybe because it made a change to be racing a course I recognised. Athletics East 1:24:53 1:25:24 1:33:34 69.37

taulpaul Excellent big city race in Birmingham at long last. A few delayed problems at the start but overall i have to say for a first time it was well organised. Course was a little hilly and windy at times with sporadic start. Terrific finish down Broad Street once my legs carried me that is. Top quality medal and goodie bag at the finish added to the big feel of this race. Roll on next year. Came in position 913 out of 6932 finishers. Birmingham Swifts 1:33:28 1:43:34 1:43:46 56.89
hopisen Since I'd PB'd at the Royal Parks 2 weeks ago, wasn't expecting to run this at all fast as it was a much tougher course.

However, really enjoyed the event, and despite a slow first hald (all thouse f***ing flyovers and underpasses tested my spirit!) found the secon half quite easy, so was a massive neagative split (something like 1.07/1.03) thinks i could have done a PB if I'd really pushed it, but happy with this time as thaat wasn't my attention starting out. next challenge will be to get to 2.05 for the half ahead of my first marathon! ifor This was OK. Just OK really. Horrible traffic to and from. Very urban down the A34 through the badlands of N. Bham. Then round the hilliest streets of Edgbaston up and down all the hills and out on the Hagley Road, turnaround and come back down finish on Broad Street. Felt pretty strong and did a reasonable pace. If flat would have cranked out a PB. Probably do next year but not def. Unaffiliated 1:41:25 1:43:26 1:55:00 1:43:26 56.05

LTW Week after Godiva half but it would be rude not to do this one on our doorstep - Was very pleased with this time as I had knocked 4 mins of my pb last week at Cov half. Badly organised start but excellent organisation at the finish - very good crowd support not the prettiest of routes but challenging with most of the hills in the first 6 miles. The medal and tee shirt real quality but would have prefered a banana or chocolate instead of a box of special K??? (where were cadburys?) I would do this again Northbrook AC 2:04:38 2:04:38 2:15:00 2:06:33 54.18
