mackfly Looking forward to this and positive on a PB. Last year was very cold and wet, hoping for just cold this year. - great running conditions, I was on for 1.25 until the few miles and my hip started to hurt. As as very well organized and marshalled. Unaffiliated 1:24:01 1:25:43 1:27:00 1:25:43 68.53

Smartypants Hmmm... All in all, twas nice to get out and run but... not fast, too little training and 3 mins slower than last year - bugger. Unaffiliated 1:43:05 1:46:11 1:45:00 1:46:11 56.74

Tim of Fife I clocked 1:43.08 on both chip and stopwatch, placing me 471st of the 1,323 finishers.

This was the third-fastest of the two dozen halves that I've run. Also, the fastest on an undulating course.

Really, really pleased with a good negative split - out in 52.19 and back in 50.49. Also, to have improved on last year's time in this race by about 5 minutes.

I found the first few miles really hard work, especially the inclines. Despite all my pre-race bravado, I began to seriously worry that my diet of short treadie training runs wouldn't be enough for a course like Bedford. After all, enough people had told me so beforehand.

But, around the nine mile mark, something just clicked into place and I really, really loved the last third.

Proves that there's a little life left in the old 'gym bunny' yet. Looking forward to getting back to warm indoor 5kms again this week.

Splits : Mile 1 - 8.01 / Mile 2 - 7.46 / Mile 3 - 8.09 / Mile 4 - 8.02 / Mile 5 - 8.12 / Mile 6 - 8.15 / Mile 7 - 7.54 / Mile 8 - 8.02 / Mile 9 - 8.00 / Mile 10 - 7.37 / Mile 11 - 7.26 / Mile 12 - 7.28 / Mile 13 - 7.33 / Last 0.1 miles - 0.43)

Keefy Beefy Just doing this for a bit of end-of-year fun... And so it was. Given how fit I think I am and how difficult I perceived the course to be, just wanted to get around and be able to carry on training tomorrow. However, it turned out that the course was not as hard as their profile pic suggested (that or I've suddenly become good at hills!) and I now almost regret not trying for something a bit more ambitious. Started middle of the crowd and finished the first mile in 7:45. Then did miles 2-9 between 7:10 and 7:35 before doing the final fast 4 miles (flat or very downhill) around 6:45. All in all, a very enjoyable race and well organised. Good work, Bedford Harriers. Unaffiliated 1:30:00 1:30:00 1:34:51 61.12

Lieutenant Lucerne Taking into account a week of training lost in November through ilness, and then another cold this week, I was happy with the finishing time (which is my watch time, as the chip didn't work). Unaffiliated 1:25:52 1:29:33 1:30:53 69.67
hatterfan I weren't too keen about this despite it being my home track! I decided to miss my training run on Saturday. I started off like I normally do, but after 4 miles I started to feel it. Plodded along up to about 11 miles, looked at my watch and I thought with a bit of effort I could actually do a PB for this race. So instead of people overtaking me in the last two miles, I was the one doing it. I came in 32 secs quicker than my previous best here. Made me feel good for the rest of the day. Its just a shame I didn't put more effort it throughout the race as I could have probably beaten my PB for a half marathon! 100 Marathon Club 1:31:29 1:46:53 1:50:07 1:50:58 52.53

fetcheveryone Good race - I found the hills tough, but the distance was even tougher, as I've equalled my November mileage in a single outing. Support was excellent from the marshalls, and the Fetchies at mile 11, and seeing the Goings and Katieb (the massage ninja with all the skillz) at the end was superb (almost as superb as the cheesy beany spud and delicious hot alcoholic isotonic Ribena from Jo). tom_craggs Last minute decision to enter. Running this as a trainining run but should still get close to or perhaps PB here although I have had very little faster paced runs recently. 1:25 should be tempo pace for me now. **chip time** gun time 01:23:06, very pleased, nice and controlled temppo pace until 10 miles then sped up a bit. Great race, really well organised, hills nowhere near as bad as I expected. Mornington Chasers, Winchester & District AC 1:15:29 1:23:00 1:25:00 1:23:00 69.85

Slow Going trundled round with John in a slightly foolish attempt to prove something while half way through antibiotics for a chest infection. Good fun as always, although the mile 5 layby marshalling was definately below the standard of previous years. Slightly disturbed that the marshalls at mile 11 appeared to have killed and skinned a fetchie and hung his hide up on a tree. UKnetrunner 1:31:13 1:39:03 1:58:11 49.70
