Enaoslm 19th/1290 and a pb. This was my big autumn race as I'm not doing a marathon this year so training had been focused towards this race and it is in my home town. Great first event for Basingstoke. Uncharacteristically hot weather for this time of year ~28oC, which really hit the runners hard esecially with such a hilly course. I started near the front and went off quickly for the 1st mile before settling into a stride. Knew the course well so I had a strategy for running it and it all paid off. Heat got to me about 7 miles in but I slowed for drinks and water over my head and was able to keep going strong. Ran fast downhill and made up some good ground on other runners. Not a particularly strong finsh as I just wanted to finish. Good support all round but particularly at the end and my family were there to see me come home. Great day!!! Garfield Test run to see how things are going if I'm doing St Neot's in November...though I might go for a small PB if I'm in shape for it. Well, that was hot as hell! FERC 2:09:59 2:20:10 2:20:00 2:32:19 45.85

Gobi Part of a long run 7.5 mile WU, leg behaved quite well until the steep descent at 8 miles. Hip pain and then cramp meant an easy jog home from 10 miles.

Solid enough workout. Cannock & Stafford AC 1:13:26 1:19:04 1:27:43 68.17
Iron_Mum Hot, hilly, hellish. But nice views. Unaffiliated 1:53:10 2:00:15 2:07:35 52.91
johnnyagain Slower than planned. The conditions were so hot (29 degrees) that I dropped the pace from my original 1:30 target after two miles. Good, moderately hilly, route. Ludlow Runners 1:27:48 1:36:35 1:36:35 68.47
