daviec Ran well on a tough course. Predicted time was plucked from thin air, and ended up running race without starting my watch so had no idea how I was going. Very pleased with outcome as this was off the back of base training only, and with some consistent training and introducing some intervals and tempo work over next few months I expect to improve. Course was heavy from rain but didn't churn up at all. Although 4k is short and sharp the course just seemed to go on and on. Was so glad to see the finish as I sounded like my lungs were about to leave my body. Team just missed out on the medals despite a cracking final leg from Stevie. Everyone ran well on the day from both teams. Good to see the club manage a strong turnout for the event. U11 boys picked up a silver in their event :) Carnegie Harriers 14:17 14:30 14:37 69.87
Hamsterwheel Ejoyed the race and ran faster then i had hoped.A and B teams ran there hearts out with the A team finishing 4th.Well done to the top 3 Givan will be up there next year. Girvan AAC 15:09 16:00 15:04 68.29
hannkies Ran okay, started our last leg sensibly as I knew Irvine were as near to uncatchable as Usain Bolt with a headstart so didn't want to do anything daft and lose us silver. Probably went TOO easy at the start but picked it up and finished strongly which was a plus, keeping the gap between us and bronze similar. Iain, James and Connell combined with me for silver so that was decent and I'm sure I had a bit in the tank. Well done to our lassies for doubling up with gold and silver.
