ATHelite Run in the Park 5K

Entrants (15) Club PB SB Pred Time WAVA
Applecross Wugh! Not quite the course I was expecting, after being assured that 'it's not as hilly as the club run'! Legs seem to have forgotten how to do hills at anything resembling speed, and the last hill out of the woods just about killed me. Didn't even get much benefit from the downhill at 2-3 km, as the steps just knocked me off my stride completely. Bit disappointed to be over 23 mins, but should be an easy PB to beat for next 5 km I enter. Nice race though - great weather, good route and goody bag; nice to meet JulesR and his lovely missus, and Quadbarrel. UP{DATE>>>>fourth lady home, official timekeepers kindly shaved a few seconds off my watch time - 23:08 Unaffiliated 23:06 23:08 23:08 63.70
ChrisU Nice trail running on cool frosty morning at Chatelherault Country Park. Managed 4th place and 1st V40 (really 2nd V40).
Good to meet Quadbarrel and JulesR in person! Cambuslang Harriers, Westerlands Cross Country Club, Scottish Veteran Harriers Club 16:50 16:50 18:29 74.87
ClaireT This trail run was a lot tougher than expected, and it was absolutely freezing! Alll adds to the fun though. 1st lady (only just, had to sprint finish). Victoria Park - City of Glasgow AC, Scottish Veteran Harriers Club 18:25 19:08 21:32 68.42

JulesR Well that was a hilly little 5k. Not sure where my body was, but it wasn't at the races. Went through the motions and felt very heavy. That said it's a smashing race with stunning scenery and I'll do it again for sure. Also I promise that my next 5k will be a big PB. Nice to see Fetchies, A/c, Q/b & ChrisU - still haven't met Guiseppe but I'm sure he does exist!**UPDATE: Lucky 13th and a second less for next 5k's pb** Stirling Triathlon Club 18:28 18:28 20:34 68.31

Quadbarrel Not expecting anything fast. First race back after a stress fracture in my tibia. POST RACE UPDATE. Great race, but not as fast as I thought, mainly due to the terrain. Legs were burning after the first km. Shows what 6 weeks not running does! Very enjoyable though in ideal conditions. Great to meet fellow fetch members JulesR, ChrisU and Applecross. Cambuslang Harriers 17:05 17:59 20:00 20:59 62.64
shannon ok run. nice wee route in the country park. Garscube Harriers 18:44 21:31 21:31 59.72
Supervixen First ever trail race, nice course and good conditions and a half K of stairs to boot! Sturggled with the hills a bit and was not close to by PB despite training. Nice to see some fetchies there although I'm a bit shy! Sorry to those who bet on me :( Unaffiliated 24:34 24:34 32:00 46.83
