CookPassBabtridge Tapered a bit for this one after 4 weeks marathon training at a reasonable mileage, started quite a way back after runners cramming in at the front just before the gun. Spent the first mile weaving through the crowds and it forced me to start a bit slower than i might have normally. Felt strong though and kept going well to a decent PB. Wheabs Cold and frosty morning. Wasn't sure how this run was going to go as my legs were still heavy after skiing. But I was happy with the time.

Saw Bev from Fetch and said hello at the start - hope you hada good race! Wilmslow RC 35:28 35:28 35:36 61.24
Neil Oldfield Smashed my PB which was from this race last year by over 4 minutes!!!Was well happy and dont think I could have gone much quicker! Joining a club is def paying off I rekon.Really enjoyed the race although the start was a bit crammed and hectic. Unaffiliated 37:34 37:34 37:34 56.11
bevunit Bit of a late night and not enough fluids in the morning meant my legs felt a bit heavy. Am sure with better preparation I could have gone faster. Also start was a little congested so my first mile was slower. A section in the middle where the ground was slippy - presumably due to ice - made the running very difficult. Wheabs noticed my fetch shirt and said hello which made me smile. Wrecsam Tri 44:22 44:22 44:22 53.77
Marcus Conservative guess at the gun time - it had all gone blurry by the end! Smashed my best time by a minute on a glorious morning, in my first race as a vet. Got the start just about right for once, you've got to expect a bit of a fight over the first half mile with the size of this field! Felt just the right side of desperate for most of the race but three attempts to burn off a dogged clubmate proved one too many and had to slow down a bit for the last 100 metres to avoid being sick. Who knows, if I hadn't had drunk enough to sink a ship in the last week it might have been a few seconds quicker, but not half as much fun! Oh yes I'm pleased with this one :-)

By the way if anyone towards the back of the start is tempted to blame the organisers for the mild chaos I can tell you it was down to runners ignoring pleas from the PA to line up properly. If it had been the Grand National there'd have been a recall! A tape would be good for next year though... Vale Royal AC, Fell Runners Association 30:53 31:25 32:30 31:41 69.33
Siggers From what I've heard this race should be a PB, two and a half months should be enough, especially as this is a stepping stone to a PB in the stafford half.

Fantastic P.B. for me, over 2 mins off. This is a good flat course, it's made for it. Do agree about the organisation, but then that is also due to the success of this run. My main gripe would be about the parking, they must have a good idea of the number of entrants, so could have organised better parking facilities prior to race day. Still a good race and I would do it again next year! North Staffs Road Runners 30:32 37:05 38:00 37:05 58.00
Fat Man Runs I wasn't expecting a pb, but had put some good prep in this week and where I think a couple of weeks ago I would have been over 42 minutes I cam in at 40.23, so I'm not disappointed. Hoping this can be a good prep for Ashby next week although the course here is about as different as you can get.

One point, did anyone find the roads very slippy - I think this could have added 30 seconds Unaffiliated 37:20 40:23 40:00 40:23 52.38
Killerkane Gonna do my best to run an 8min mile throughout this one lets hope christmas isnt too glutonous!Training going well so far! Just didn't happen for me on the day i was convinced i was gonna blow 40 minutes - but only managed to knock 1 (yes one) sec off my PB. Unaffiliated 40:30 40:30 40:00 40:30 52.11

Jogging Jon Nice race, well organised, a bit congested at the start though took a while to pick way through slower runners. Maybe time pens would help. Thanks to all the Marshalls and oranisers. 100 Marathon Club, Wrekin Road Runners 38:21 39:16 45:00 39:16 56.38
