Beaconette First time I've done this one. Started waaaaaaaaay too far back and was stuck behind thousands of walking people for the first 2k. But when I did have room to run, I'm really pleased with how I did. AND the tshirt fits! :-D

becca7 This race had a section for sub-25 runners and then one for 25-30 minute runners. I started at the front of this second group as, although I was hoping for sub-25, I tend to start a little slowly and I did not want to get in anyone's way. As it turned out I encountered a little congestion over the first 200 metres but nothing too great. The course is very gently undulating and so a pb is achievable if getting a clear path. I had not run a 5km race for a few years so a pb was always likely and was heading for a time close to 5 minutes when I got a stitch with 600 metres to go. Walked for a few seconds and then carried on painfully as the finish was so close.

Kristi G My first ever organised run, loved the atmosphere! Quite emotional as i was running for my son who is Autistic and couldn't wait to get started.
I was pleased with my time, as it was the first time i had ran and not stopped to walk, yay me!
I have attended organised runs with my hubby, as he's a runner and thought it was set out well.
I think the only thing that didn't help me, was being caught behind loads of people walking.
Don't get me wrong, if thats how they choose to do the course, it's their choice, but they could of been more considerate to the women who wanted to run, especially when i know i can do 5k in 40 mins!

Overall, i'm happy!
