A winter trail running treat – uphill!
Formerly called The Wellingborough Multi Terrain Series, we are pleased to offer this two round multi terrain run at Irchester Country Park with a choice of 3 distances: 5, 10 or 15K. This year we are back to the uphill version, running the event in the opposite direction to 2023
Whether you’re looking for a multi terrain fun run, take your parkrun off road, want to practice the run leg of your triathlon, or run a serious race in some stunning surrounds, then the varied terrain of the Jurassic Irchester Country Park in Northamptonshire is ideal. It doesn’t matter what ability level you are as you have three distance options . The course for all 3 distances is the same – with the 5km runners completing 1 lap, the 10km runners 2 laps, and the 15km runners 3 laps with everybody starting at the same time.
If you fancy a change from your parkrun, trying trail running, a step up from your usual 10k run or if you like things a little more…well dirty!

Parking
There is parking at the country park, please check their website for current charges and bring some change!
Course
One, Two, or Three lap run, in the varied terrain of the Jurassic Irchester Country Park in Northamptonshire. The downhill course can be found here. and the uphill course can be found here
We have added a section to the 10K and 15K course, you will be directed to a trail to your left before the hill on the second and third laps. Follow the trail and turn right at the bottom, cross the roadway and follow the edge of the field, go through the trees and turn left back on the main path to the hill – Don’t forget you can go longer or shorter on the day if things change – just speak to the registration team (if you want to go longer you will need cash to pay for the difference in fees.

What to wear
Depends on the weather but trail shoes are a safe bet.
MEMENTO
A wooden medal (well it is in a forest!) for all finishers – ribbon colour denotes your distance and a each round is noted.

Is the course marked? Yes there signs and marshals on the course to direct you
What’s the course like? Its mix of trails, paths, and roads and not forgetting the big (sometimes muddy) hill near the start, please CLICK HERE for the route map
Is there a mandatory kit list? No but trail shoes are recommended
Is there a water station? Yes for those running the 10K and 15K there is water close to the start/finish area
Where can I park? There is paid parking available in the Country Park (please check their website for fees) some of which is weather dependent. Once full there is a retail park within walking distance of the start with parking available
Is there anywhere to leave small items during the race?
There will be 3 boxes in the registration area (one for the 5km run, 10km and 15km run) where you can leave additional clothing/small items etc. WE CANNOT ACCOMMODATE LARGE BAGS.
These will be relocated to the finish line. This area is unsecured, so please ensure you do not leave any valuables in the boxes. Any items left will be at your own risk.
What happens if I want to change distances on the day? If you want to go longer or shorter then you will need to pay any extra fees and collect and alternative number at registration . If you want to reduce the distance during the race please let the finish line team know as you cross the line that you have gone short
