Introduction to Skyrunning - North Wales


Based in Snowdonia National Park, a weekend of scrambling for skyrunners learning essential techniques to tackle steep scrambling terrain in the mountains. This course is aimed at people that are wanting to start skyrunning or wish to build experience before a skyrunning event.

 

  • Skyrunning is mountain running where you experience running on trails and scrambling up beautiful ridges.


  • Run by a highly experienced trail runner with British Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor (MCI), British Athletics qualifications and Casualty Care First Aid.


  • 2 day course building confidence and technique on steep ground while running some of the best trails in Snowdonia National Park including technical scrambling terrain.


  • Spend the weekend with like minded people who share the same passion as you.
  • Perfect for runners who regularly run 15km or more who want to start technical running in the mountains or for skyrunners looking to improve confidence and refresh skills before a race such as the skyline series or the Dragons Back.


  • Based in the heart of Snowdonia National Park that encompasses some of the finest scenery in North Wales including iconic scrambles such as Crib Goch and Tryfan.


  • Increase your confidence, strategy and technique for Skyline races or races like the dragons back in this country and abroad.

Dean Russell is an active trail runner , climber and mountaineer with over 20  years experience. He is a qualified Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor (MCI) and has the British Athletics Fell Leadership in Running Fitness (FLiRF) award. Dean has competed in numerous trail races over the years and finished the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc in 2017 and the Dennis Rankin round in 2019. His current focus is on personal challenges and has recently ticked off the Snowden girdle, the Welsh 3,000’s, Tour de Monte Rosa and is currently training for the Bob Graham.
