Welcome to Wigston Phoenix Running Club. We are a friendly, sociable club who cater for all standards of runners in Wigston, Oadby and South West Leicestershire.
Our main training night is Tuesday, when we meet at The Wigston Liberal Club- arrive at 6:45 for a 7pm start

LRRL 2024

Tuesday Club Night Runs

Club runs 7pm from the new venue Wigston Liberal Club (corner of Bull Head St and Kelmmarsh Ave). Summer Time is back and we venture away form the traffic. It has been wet recently so be prepared and wear your off road shoes! We will look to include the Countesthorpe and Rose Bank routes soon.

2024 Club AGM

The Club Annual General Meeting will be held at the Liberal Club, on Tuesday 2nd April at 8:30pm after the club run. We need to ratify the club accounts and agree that club subscription rates will be unchanged for the coming season, £15 per annum (with 50% concessions for those eligible) note the individual EA registration fee has increased to £19. Both memberships run from the 1st April to 31st March. Once agreed subscriptions will be due for membership renewals. The renewal process will be as last season. The committee members have agreed to continue their roles next year. If you have any motions you wish to raise at the AGM or wish to stand for one of the committee positions, email the Club Secretary [Mick Jordan] by 26th March. Click here for full details

LRAA - 97th Cross Country Championships 2024

Sturday, 06 January 2024. Multi-terrain XC races, distances vary from 3k -10k (depending on the race gender/ age category)
Venue: Rotherby Lodge Farm, Rotherby, LE14 2LL
Congratulations to Jo Sanders Masters Lady County XC Champion!
We also had a men's masters team racing. Ian Murdey, Mark Thorne, Clive Jones and Rob Gregory came in 5th. Thanks Rob for stepping in at the last minute and helping us to record our first team ranking place since 2019.

Derby Runner Cross Country League

Well done to all runners and volunteers! Special thanks to Carole for organizing the catering it was superb! Leicestershire Road Running League

2023 LRRL#6 the next league race is Prestwold 10km 25/6/23. The race starts at 10:00. We are car sharing from The Liberal Club car park, meeting Sunday morning at 8:40, setting off for Prestwold at 8:45. It's looking like a great turn our again!! It's warm one though, with temperatures in the high twenties, so make sure your are well hydrated pre-race. Be sensible, it is much better to forget targets and just enjoy the event. Pushing yourself too hard in the heat can have disastrous consequences, and from personal experience you don't want to go there!
