Let's start with a bit of a shorter distance 😛 At April's York 5k on Friday both Vicky Shaw and Gail Colville ran 5k PBs 🥳 Vicky was first V40 Female running a time of 19:29 while Gail was first V55 Female in 19:49. Second Claim member Kai Sunman finished second with 15:15 and Ruby Sykes was 4th Female in 17:11.![]()

There was some fantastic running at Manchester Marathon with new member Brad Walker knocking 10 minutes off his marathon PB, finishing in 2:33:25 and 14th place in the non-elite race. Brendan Moody made his marathon debut in a time of 2:40:36 whilst Alan Nutton took 5 minutes off his PB with 3:00:54. Other members to finish were Michael Slack (3:24:46), Laura Mills (4:52:08) and Sarah Burton (5:05:25).![]()

Nathan Doy travelled to Boston, USA to complete his second marathon of the 6 Abbott World Marathon Majors. He finished the Boston Marathon in 3:39:13.![]()

A bit closer to home at Roundhay Park in Leeds, Tayla Brons and Gemma Thickett ran the Half Marathon distance in times of 1:41:15 and 1:48:04 respectively.![]()

There were 18 Parkrunners at 9 different events, including first finishes for Beth Massey (Barnsley), Gareth Cooke (Pontefract) and Naomi Drakeford (Pontefract). Naomi was the second overall finisher. Gavin Walker was first finisher at Selby Parkrun in a new overall PB of 17:22 💥 Well done everyone 👏![]()

There were 20 of our members at the first fixture of the South Yorkshire Road League 2024 held at Elsecar. First and second male finishers were Kai Sunman and Gareth Cooke with times of 26:02 and 26:52 respectively. The first and second Female finishers were Ruby Sykes finishing in 29:10 and Naomi Drakeford with 29:33. Chris McNicholas was the first V60 Male in a time of 31:34 while Gail Colville with 34:31 was the first V55 Female to finish.![]()

At the Monsal Trail 10k, Faye Lund gatecrashed Kingstone Runners outing to the Peak District and finished 4th V40 Female in a time of 54:40.![]()

Over 5000 people took on the notoriously hilly Sheffield Half Marathon, made worse by Storm Kathleen's winds, the consensus was it wasn't enjoyable and not one to be done again 😂 Really selling it guys. Luckily for them I couldn't find any photos either 🤣 However, Gemma Thickett recorded a course PB running a time of 1:46:28. ![]()
