Can't really start anywhere else but in the Capital where over 50,000 runners descended for the 44th London Marathon. That journey is probably the easiest. The miles and miles in training, long runs, weeks of hard work, now that's the journey that takes it's toll, all leading to one make or break day. Gareth Cooke knows this only too well and it's taken him a fair few tries since 2019 but the PBs keep coming this year. Taking 27 seconds off and finishing 48th, he ran an amazing 2:24:35. Gary Briscoe stuck with him for much of it and finished up running 2:26:10, taking 10 minutes off his time from last year and just 5 seconds outside his PB. Naomi Drakeford took over 10 minutes off her time from last year, finishing 25th Female in a PB time of 2:46:50. This time also means Naomi is now our Senior Female Marathon record holder 🥳 Josh Bird ran close to his time last year with 2:32:13.![]()

Kai Sunman claimed another victory at the 2nd South Yorkshire Road League fixture at Lodge Moor. His time was 27:08. Phil Montgomery finished 3rd just a second behind 2nd place in 27:49. Ruby Sykes was first Female, her time was 30:23. Chris McNicholas consolidated his V60 Male 1st place with a time of 32:24. Gail Colville was first V55 Female finishing in a course PB of 35:04 💥![]()

Faye Lund gatecrashed another Kingstone Runners trip, this time to Majorca to run the Magaluf 10k, she finished in a time of 56:19 👏![]()

The Tissington Trail Marathon runs on an old railway line in the Peak District. Simon Roberts completed the 26.2 miles in 3:27:13 to finish 13th overall and 2nd V55 Male 👏![]()

The Sprint Duathlon at Mallory Park in Leicester was used for qualification to represent Team GB at the Duathlon World Championships. Jenny Wakeman won her V65 Female category in a time of 1:23:30. This included a 5km run (23:40), a 20km bike ride (45:22) and a 2.5km run (12:37) 💪![]()

Lee Spensley was our first runner to finish the Yorkshire Wildlife Park 10k, his time was 45:37. He was followed by Caron Holburt (1:06:04), Caroline Spensley (1:11:29) and Helen Jones-Crofts (1:13:48) 👏![]()

At Parkrun, there were first finishes for Kai Sunman and Ruby Sykes at Finsbury, Beth Massey at Lister Park and Chris Gillott at Hillsborough. Keith Littlewood went International Parkrunning to Ed Austin Regional Parkrun in Florida. He was first finisher in a time of 19:46 💪![]()

Let's start with a bit of a shorter distance 😛 At April's York 5k on Friday both Vicky Shaw and Gail Colville ran 5k PBs 🥳 Vicky was first V40 Female running a time of 19:29 while Gail was first V55 Female in 19:49. Second Claim member Kai Sunman finished second with 15:15 and Ruby Sykes was 4th Female in 17:11.![]()

There was some fantastic running at Manchester Marathon with new member Brad Walker knocking 10 minutes off his marathon PB, finishing in 2:33:25 and 14th place in the non-elite race. Brendan Moody made his marathon debut in a time of 2:40:36 whilst Alan Nutton took 5 minutes off his PB with 3:00:54. Other members to finish were Michael Slack (3:24:46), Laura Mills (4:52:08) and Sarah Burton (5:05:25).![]()

Nathan Doy travelled to Boston, USA to complete his second marathon of the 6 Abbott World Marathon Majors. He finished the Boston Marathon in 3:39:13.![]()

A bit closer to home at Roundhay Park in Leeds, Tayla Brons and Gemma Thickett ran the Half Marathon distance in times of 1:41:15 and 1:48:04 respectively.![]()

There were 18 Parkrunners at 9 different events, including first finishes for Beth Massey (Barnsley), Gareth Cooke (Pontefract) and Naomi Drakeford (Pontefract). Naomi was the second overall finisher. Gavin Walker was first finisher at Selby Parkrun in a new overall PB of 17:22 💥 Well done everyone 👏![]()
