Starting blocks for a 400m. Positioning is decent but my drive is pretty poor still.

The great dollop: if you want to develop better drive, do some powercleans. From the pic I'd also say your blocks are a smidge too close to the line. 2 to 2.5 foot lengths usually to the front block.

Sharkie: Your weight looks a bit far back to me Ducks. And agree with above - you look a bit 'bunched' to me - therefore losing drive - also get your head in line with your spine.
Just my humble I hasten to add!

The Duckinator: Thanks for the feedback. Basically the only time I get to use blocks is at meets!

I will try putting the blocks back a bit and seeing what difference that makes. I did see my spine wasn't quite straight!

Sharkie: It takes forever to get blocks right, and you need someone else to watch and correct - kind of impossible to do it all on your own.

Sharkie: Sorry, me again - your hips need to be higher than your shoulders - your neck and head in line with your spine, head - that way the weight is through your shoulders and arms - you need to feel like you're about to topple..

Totoro: Is it just me that misread blocks as... ?
