Southern Men's League 1500m (B-string race) - taking it easy for 3rd place, the two guys in front were sub 4:10 runners so no chance of keeping with them (this year anyway).

Baron: Blister, you're doing yourself a disservice. It wasn't a 'B' string race, it was a Match 2 race.

Cavey: What does the 'W' mean?

Blister: Thats our team letter, everyone from the team wears the same letter and you can only enter 2 members per race. The faster runner in your team wears the double letter, so for my team it would be WW (i.e. the guy at the back of the photo).

Baron: Blister mate, I can't have explained the rules to you very well. It was a double match, hence why there were two races per event. The 'A' and 'B' string races were combined from 800m up. Those wearing a single letter were in the 'A' string race, i.e. you, you were physically racing against 'B' strings but were not officially racing them for points. By the way my s/c race, was both matches combined and 'A' and 'B' string races combined. Still confused? ;)

Baron: Also, just to confuse matter even more, the guy at the front is wearing a number, so he was a guest in the race, so effectively you came 2nd as far as the match was concerned.
