We have really benefited from pool sessions over the winter and a recent wet session in the sea. Practising wet exits and deep water rescues etc helps me feel more confident. At least if I capsize I know I will be OK. It's amazing how choppy a Loch/Lough can get when the wind pics up.

There are plenty of islands and headlands down at this end of the lough, which provide some sort of shelter, but even then there can be white horses on the stretch in front of me. What that would be like out on the main lough, I dread to think.

We need a single fetchies adventure holiday. I've just booked a campsite in the arse end of nowhere, which is right by a sea loch and some great walking as well. You have to go off the beaten track to avoid the bloody tourists in the Highlands in the summer.

Yeah, the roads are much busier here in the summer, but it's mostly traffic passing through to get to the coast. There are a few cruisers on the lough, but we don't get many at our end.

Most of the traffic on this part of the lough would be fishermen and that's mainly end of May and the start of June.

Your campsite sounds perfect for some head clearance.

Haven't got my tent out for a while, and no plans for this summer yet, which is a shame.

I am doing a music fest down in Somerset in August, but we are hostelling nearby. I think it was a decision between fresh air, and having reasonable toilets near.

Beach Volleyball was good fun last night, a mixed group of about 7 of us. Though the wind made it tricky. The organiser is looking to have another evening soon.

That sounds fun.

I’m going to a ‘fake festival’ on Saturday, walkable from my house, there are 6 tribute bands playing, looks fun.

Someone I know from running club has suggested a work colleague I might get on with. I’ve had his Facebook details a while but haven’t contacted him as I was seeing TT man. Think I will give it a go, nothing to lose really, it’s just what to say in an opening message!

Tributes to Kings of Leon, U2, the Jam, Oasis, Queen and the Rolling Stones. None of whom I’ve seen live for real.

Well this festival is called ArcTanGent HF, sort of all things post punk, alt rock etc.

Only familiar with a couple of bands, but all very obscure. Which is how I like it :)
