Whilst I'm sure that none of us are those sorts of people, with their toiletroll-and-pasta fortifications, but maybe you've been popping an extra little thing here and there into your baskets, Things Being What They Are. Get the Perfectly Reasonable Person guilt off your chest here. I'll start.

A bag of tagliatelle, a box of risotto rice, a large bag of plain flour, around ten extra beers, large bag of sugar, three packet bread mixes, various cheeses (halloumi, feta, parmesanot), extra box of cereal (sultana bran), a jar of tahini and two cans of chick peas, extra pack of lentils, bag of porridge oats and two home-brew kits (beer and cider).

Well I have not seen any chicken to buy this week, so if I see some I might buy two packs and put one in the freezer.

Yesterday at local butcher to buy my half pound of mince for tea tonight, shop person said are you sure you don’t want more, you might regret it later. I stuck to my half pound, I really went in for chicken

Full sugar coke (I don’t feel guilty about this because there was a stack as tall as me in Tesco!)

Dog treats :-)

I've bought an extra pack of sanitary items. Everything else I can make do/substitute/go without. But not those.

I had to home isolate as of Monday after leaving work, so popped into Costco on the way home.

Didn't need any of the traditional panic buy options as we always have a massive stock of Costco toilet rolls and pasta in the house anyway

So it was whole bean coffee (WFH priority), pack of Danish pastries, pack of cookies, job lot of halloumi. Essentials!

Cheese!

Last night, thwarted by the lack of meat or fish (not to mention milk, potatoes and virtually everything else) in my local Morrisons, I spotted the cheese section seemed to be well stocked. Not the "block" cheese, you know, 500g Cathedral City Extra Mature for £2, that sort of thing. That was long gone. But the cheese counter and the pre-wrapped "good" stuff at the top of Market Street, plenty of proper cheese.

I got, in no particular order, Cornish Brie, Mature Red Leicester, British goats cheese, Somerset vintage cheddar and Colston Basset mature Stilton. I even found a packet of unsalted butter hiding at the back of the dairy section. "At least we can feast on a cheese board" I thought.

Had to revise that plan when I couldn't find any crackers :-(

Did eventually manage to find a box of Morrisons own "Biscuits for cheese" The last one in the shop, so happy days.

Chez Nico may have a severely limited choice of starters and mains this weekend, but the cheeseboard will be bang on.

We have had tinned/dried/cured goods, balance of protein/fats in the house from the point where they said a while back about 2 week isolation. No more than needed for the four household members, but enough that we would not have to put anyone at risk.
This was well before shortages, and we are just topping up as used, no more.
Did however, grab multivitamins a while ago, in case our diet became lacking in variety such that it might compromise health if infected.
Do *not* want to pass it on to elderly neighbours if we have to isolate completely, so minimum preparations were to ensure we didn't have to go out or make contact if we were ill.

(We NEED Shirley opposite in her 70s, as we rely on her for knowing which bin it is, when to put washing out or get it in etc... Plus chats :-) )
