Yoga first thing and tea in bed. Trying not to engage with my worry about kids' logistics.

I would also like another coffee with The Scribbler :)

Took a friend to lunch at the restaurant at uni which does really great food in a nice environment. We had 3 courses and coffee and took 2 hours having a lovely chat, it was fab :)

The Scribbler
Self medicated with chocolate. Yoga this evening.

I've been feeling my mood dipping this week, and after another boring and frustrating day at work, a tiny bit of criticism over the way I'd done something at tea time was enough to tip me over. Tears, frustration and fighting the negative self talk.

I know I am enough and self validation is all I really need, but jeez, it would be nice to hear something positive, even just a 'thank you' or a 'that's good'. But my upset thinking has proved that my work does matter to me and I need to find ways to shine through words.

Oh and still no one in my family has called me (I've called them). Seems we do everything via WhatsApp these days and I don't have a cute kid or dog to post pics of.

I find this time of year usually sees a huge dip in my mood/energy/motivation Scribbler. All the more need for some self care.

Today I’m hoping to use some flexi to work a shorter day. Taking time to eat breakfast (and shout at some twat on BBC breakfast campaigning for Big Ben to bong as we leave the EU) before starting work.

Yes I have generally felt a dip in January most years too. I was just congratulating myself on riding it out a bit better than previously. At least I sort of felt this coming.

And I'm shouting at the bongs too.

Curtains open to see the blue sky.

Lovely hot water bottle on my sore back.

Feet under the duvet keeping warm.

Good book to read.
