We've done New Year a couple of times, also October half term. Went for Easter last year, which was early and very log burner friendly. But best out of season break so far was last year for the Padstow Festival in early December. Totally different experience when the mass crowds have disappeared and the fires have been lit.

I was hoping to get down there for my birthday later this month,but right now I can’t evrn afford to go down my own local so I make do with my daily webcam fix. I really want to be there out of season.

Nice. It is calm and quiet there this morning. I just watched two men and a dog getting on a boat looking like they are getting ready to go out. |

Drama in Padstow this morning: 4 men are gathered around something that appears to be sticking out of the tarmac by the harbour side, trying to work out what to do about it. I wonder what was there before, I can't remember.

I'm not sure there was actually anything sticking up, it might just have been a shadow from the bench. They seem to be working on the basis that if they stare at whatever the problem is hard enough, that'll fix it. They did some arm waving as if they were raising a sail. One had a tape measure out. A big guy in a grey t-shirt seems to be in charge.
