I'm not entirely surprised Great Run are charging it - maybe more surprised that people are paying it. I spectated a bit out of curiousity by the golf club, so 2 km (?) in: it seemed an odd event. There were lots of waves with no apparent seeding. So each wave, as far as I saw, would have a couple of runners way ahead of the rest, a few faster runners trickling through, a spread out "pack", as no wave was that big (150-200), and some stragglers. This meant that the tail-enders would be passed by the leaders of the following wave at the end. It just didn't seem like a race, or much of an event.

It had to be fair drawn in a wide cross-section of participants, some of whom I'm sure must have been thinking "was that it?" and "never again" because ironically, that course was much, MUCH harder than the XC course, especially once the part at the top had got churned up by a few hundred feet.

Did the timing at the Trossachs Trail Series last night, fairly easy with the app on an iPad tbh, although the weather was pretty vile. Was nervous with Angela as my boss😀

I did the Stirling Castle event last year & enjoyed it.

Another new Scottish parkrun today, which I reckon will be at the bijou end of things, Agnew in Stranraer. Another one I'm unlikely to get to. (I reckon I'll manage Levengrove some time.)

Squelchy in bits at Falkirk parkrun today. Mrs Ally-C said hi :-) having recognised me from Stirling scanning last week.

Plean had its lowest turnout today (33) and slowest ever first finisher (23:11) (who was a junior, doing their first ever (!) parkrun). I expect there was considerable mud pig

Girvan parkrun is a place where someone finishing in the 22-23 minutes range has a chance of winning. So long as the Cambuslang harriers chap isn't running!

Top 2 at Inverness today 😁. Well, not really, it was cancelled so my friend and I did a rebel run.

Devilla open, places still available.

Yes Gus, here is the page parkrun.org.uk Three lapper, prom and park. I wonder if Agnew Park is the smallest park to host a parkrun?
