REAL wild running then Peter!
Maybe a butler is required Mrsb!?! Food, tent, sleeping bags--yeah I know how the long events go cos my wife does them solo but luckily has non-running friends who enjoy such events and who often go along to keep things organised and allow the running to be the prime focus. I don't accompany her--she's better off without me because I have MY own ideas about how things should be!! It's an agreement we reached a long time ago!!

Hope you are ok now Peter. I always think that it is better falling in the forest, than on pavements/roads. It doesn't hurt as much.

I did a 50/50 road, forest run this morning for a change. Just an 8 miler, but quicker than usual. I've now passed the 700 mile mark, so well on target for the 1,000, provided that I remain injury free.

Ha ha! Steve and Peter! I am so glad that Husbando is not marathon training so doesn't want to run with me all the time! I love running with other friends and random strangers I meet at races, but running with a spouse doesn't lead to random interesting topics but more of the same discussions about mortgages/school arrangements etc. Oh, that and the fact that I hate being nagged about not putting in enough effort!

Not enough effort?! That's not the Mrsb we hear about here!
I must be lucky--wife and I never talked about topics like that Mrsb (we don't have a mortgage or kids to worry about!) on the occasions we ran together (she's currently getting slowly back to short runs after hip replacement in January)..it would usually be me grumbling about how slow and difficult I was finding a run--she's better and considerably younger than I am!
Great total hillstrider but damn it, I've only just past the 400 mile mark! I reckon I'm ok for the 1,000...just.... as long as I don't have injury or illness between now and the end of the year.

I'll also be at Endure at the week-end, but part of a large team this year after going solo two years ago. I hadn't realised how long it was since I last posted, but Hillstrider sees what I'm up to running wise on Strava. Now on 597 miles, so will get to 600 tomorrow on my Wednesday group run. I'm currently ahead of my 2019km target, but it will be harder to maintain the mileage once festival season starts, although I'll do a lot of walking.

Forest Plodder, you will probably have seen on strava that our club did the Henley on Thames 24 hour race at the weekend, instead of next weeks Endure. Good luck to you and MrsB at the Endure.

Steve45, your mileage is building up, so should comfortably meet the 1,000. Last year I was stuck on 50th place, but managed the 1,000.

No running tomorrow as I'm going to the Isle of Wight for my aunties funeral.

!!! I'm on 64th right now hillstrider! I'm certain the 1,000 will be ok although injury and illness aside I'll have to keep an eye on gaining a few extra miles because I just don't enjoy the chill days of Nov/December and tend to deliberately cut back! It's not the running in the cold per se but the pullarva getting ready and then post run etc!
