Well done Evangel running 7 miles in the cold.

Marky , sorry to hear that you had to miss the 5k time trial. Our running club has one this evening but I'm not doing it.

Steve, 5k in the fog was more than enough, as to go further would probably have done more harm than good.

I ran the Dibden Doddle again this morning with about a dozen club mates, hence, not doing the time trial this evening. It was well below freezing and much of the mud had hardened with the ice and frost. We ran 8.6 miles over a very varied route and the scenery was lovely, with everything coloured white. Our leader knows the forest "inside out," and it's a different route each time.

and now back to wind and heavy showers...and 10c/50f!! Only did a 5k again but enjoyed it more than yesterday. Yeah hillstrider, I'm trying to be more careful when it comes to ice/fog, don't want any broken bones at this age! What a great route yours sounds which I'm sure makes distance far more inviting.
Time trials!?! I would if I could but not having a fully functioning left leg such things are a waste of time for me really.

Steve, although I'm running against others, the only number that really matters to me is my own performance against other recent performances!

My current 5k on is one of these -but I'm not quite convinced the route isn't about 60m short!

Steve, I've only recently started doing the social doddle, because I didn't think it would help with my training. I've changed my mind now, and consider a longish slow run in good company and with no pressure, can be quite beneficial.

It was my birthday on Friday so I didn't run. I had a great evening celebration with a nice meal in a pub in the village with 9 running friends and my sister. I just ran 5 miles yesterday, as I didn't feel like doing the planned parkrun. Too much alcohol perhaps 🍻

It's a nice bright morning so I'll be off for a run soon.🏃‍♂️

I did the race today, went to bed at 8pm last night and was asleep within seconds. 11.4k in 57minutes (not sure of exact time yet), which is an improvement on the last time I did the race when I did just over 1hr 4mins. It is quite hilly in the first half and for a road race has a lot of mud!

I also survived 2 nights away with my fledgling CCF contingent - I never want to eat fried food again though! I feel that I have to set an example and eat the food so that the (especially) girls see me eating it.

Hmm, 98.39 miles to get to a nice, round number by the end of the year... think that might be pushing it a bit!

Well done MrsB for your improvement of 7 minutes over last years race time. I'm sure that you will get to the round number, although it may be difficult being the time of year for parties etc.

It was bright but very windy this morning and I ran 7.3 miles on roads at tempo pace.

I ran my first 5k since June today 😀 it wasn't fast but it's going to take ages to get back any speed.

It was 2015 when I last ran it...such was the trauma involved in the whole parking shenanigans!

My wife and I have been in Ilfracombe (North Devon) this weekend. Friday evening we were watching our 3 granddaughters in their annual dance show; yesterday morning I went for a 5 ml. run along the former Ilfracombe - Barnstaple railway, but now a path/cycleway; then this morning our 17 year-old grandson was baptised by our son, the church's pastor. (It was a service of Believer's Baptism by total immersion). Then tomorrow morning (Monday) we return home. Phew!!
