Well done, hillstrider

5 miles for me today, but did the mental arithmetic on the way around and realised there's no way I'm going to add another 140 miles in 5 weeks.

Think I'll leave it to whenever it happens, rather than engineering it around a race!

No need to wail though Sigh! Those miles you mention are easily doable in five weeks if you're at the top of your personal game but as you say..it'll happen whenever. Hope it continues to go well.
A road run hillstrider!
Ran with my wife again this morning--we don't manage it very often. Keeps me on track, just five miles on a damp unpleasant morning.
Looking forward to Kipchoge's run tomorrow.

I didn't get to run yesterday, I have an afterschool club that means I don't get to leave until 7pm. By the time I get home I just want to collapse - especially if it is dark *and* wet! Today is a rest day....

Thanks Sigh, it was a short run, but I wanted to challenge myself on the hills.
I believe that you will achieve those 140 miles in 5 weeks, but if not, it's not the end of the world.

Steve, yes a road run! I aim to do at least one run per week on roads, as I know several runners that concentrated too much on off road running, that they found they were unable to run on roads when they tried.
Well done running this morning. If the weather was anything like it was here; its been belting down with rain.
I think Kipchoge's marathon attempt will be shown via the red button tomorrow. I don't know what time though.

MrsB, enjoy your rest day today. It's also a rest day for me.

During the last few weeks, my wife and I have just done easy-paced runs from home, 3 times a week if possible, just to tick over. That's because we've been spending long hours with my mother at a care-home quite near us in South Wales. She moved from the Reading area to Swansea on June 28th, then on 16th August showed the initial symptoms of Pancreatic Cancer, and she passed away on 21st September. Her funeral was this Wednesday afternoon. Maybe we shall be able to get back to normal training next week. (Mum's sister from Yorkshire is staying with us at present.)
