Jam sandwiches are a traditional celebration enjoyed (or totally forgotten about) when one reaches 1000 miles

Dave_K good news that you have the go ahead to increase your mileage.

Steve, sounds encouraging that you are now introducing some speed work once a week into your training. I'm actually doing the same, as I thought it was about time I became more competitive again in my age category.

Well done Peter, crossing the line.

I've never heard of the tradition celebrating with jam sandwiches when reaching 1,000 miles.

Ran 7.3 miles this morning on grass, which included 4 x 4 minutes, 3 minutes, 2 minutes and 1 minute, with 1 minute recoveries between efforts.

The jam sandwiches "tradition" all started with a bit of random associations on this thread, a few years back.
Mine would have to be whatever homemade is on offer at that point.
