Thanks all ended off at physio today as my foot has been playing up i think I talked about it a while ago as I have a bunion forming and it’s causing some pain/ tightness.

Anyway it was something he could fix so he worked on the muscles/tendons to release what he said was similar to scar tissue. But he said I had really good movement in the joint which was positive and we can do some specific strengthening post Windermere.

I had a funny turn at work today I can only describe it as what the symptoms of a heart attack in women are described. I’ve had it checked out before as it’s happened a few times and they say it’s acid reflux but boy it knocked me sick I had dizzy spells thought I was going to pass out thankfully it subsided and I’m good now.

We’ve been checking blood pressure and today mine was pretty low may be related. I’ll keep an eye on it and I’m running with my friend on Sunday so ill have support if needed but I’m sure I won’t.

Good luck with your levels Pen, my old GP used to give me the numbers and always acknowledged I ran the new one just said they’d fine.

Ev not saying it will help but I’ve started using Active Root it’s a run fuel mixture with ginger to settle your stomach.

Dave O to run in countryside is amazing I’m also very lucky where we live.

Hope you’re feeling better Phil.

GG, thanks for the prescription or the witches' potion, but I'm over the problem I think; it was probably my bowels having a bit of a spring-clean. On the subject of Blood Pressure, my wife's 'normal' blood pressure is low; her sister's is even lower and she passes out from time to time, but within a few seconds she recovers. She has to know how to manage the condition, but occasionally she forgets and bang! she's out. Take care on Sunday, and if you need to drop out do so, your health comes first, and of course you're precious to us.

Thanks Ev made it to work trip feeling ok so all seems to be ok. I will certainly pull out if I’m not well, I learnt that lesson last year.

Gutted I didn’t bring my kit the area around the hotel is fab but rest is best

All the best for Sunday Phil and GG. I hope that everything goes well for you both.

ION, June 1st has arrived early for me and I shall be doing my 100th parkrun tomorrow. When I put my details on the spread sheet, I hadn’t anticipated having such an uninterrupted run of parkruns, so it’s the ton tomorrow!

Thanks ER. I've still got a bit of a cough from my recent virus/chest infection and only finished the antibiotics yesterday. I want to do the Sutton 10k on Sunday but I will probably make an eleventh hour decision.

Way to go Red have a great century celebration 🎉

Phil being sensible is a good option see how you feel and if you go address expectations accordingly.

I’m up and packed getting picked up in a couple of hours I am exhausted a last minute work trip on Wednesday/ Thursday meant my already poor sleep pattern has been hindered. I am not convinced we’ll be early to bed tonight neither. Oh well I am where I am and I will do it next years plan is to be prepared and to run better 😂

Looking forward to it though. Thanks for the good wishes.

Higgo
Two weeks off running due to my Achilles sees me even further behind the line but it was OK at parkrun today so I reckon I can get back to it gently.
Gym or mountain bike tomorrow (depending on how much 'me time' I'm allowed on my birthday), rest Monday and then club run on Tuesday will be the real test.

Decision made and I will not be doing today's race in Nonsuch Park. Disappointed of course but looking ahead I don't want a run-less summer again which might happen if I pushed myself too far.

Probably the hardest but best decision Phil.

About This Thread

Maintained by geordiegirl
*EDIT* in the current situation we are not entering races but I think we can still log any plans we may have over the coming months, whether it is learning a new skill, ticking jobs off a list, moving house(!), doing alternative exercise, aiming for training hours instead of miles, writing to family & friends, finding inventive ways to be together virtually or even entering virus races please fill in the planner and I’ll update this thread and keep our little social group going to share our goals.

Everyone is welcome, whether you don't want to set an official target or you may be aiming further but still want to pop by for a chat/offer some words of wisdom or just because the door is always open and kettle is on.

(When you go in give yourself a colour so I know you're wanting to be on the sheet so I can keep it tidy)

If you update the race planner after I've updated the header drop me an fmail or a reminder (or 2) on the thread so I know to update. Thanks
