Thanks all.
A big group of mates went out on Friday to raise a glass to our friend. His wife and one of his son's turned up as well so it was a good night which turned into a bit of a session. All plans for saturdays run went out the window as a result.
Sunday I had a bit of a mystery rash come up all over my legs and felt generally very tired. Although it cleared up as quick as it appeared, again no running so now a little bit behind schedule. Decided to pull out of Great Bentley half on 3rd Feb though as not done any where enough training and don't want to be sucked in to chasing the miles to try for a good time as don't want to end up just jogging round. Have another half to aim for at end of March ๐Ÿ˜€

Well done Hally on the 10 miler and Evangel on the intervals

Keep it up everyone, winter will soon be over ๐Ÿ˜‚

TQ, welcome to our little family here. I see that you haven't been running much during the last 5 or 6 years, so you're wisely easing in gently.

I did a run of 4.5 miles at the nearby Amman Valley cycleway, which has a gentle gradient. I did 4x400m. intervals with 200m jog RBI, not aiming to run too hard. In the event, I was quite pleased with the end result - av. pace of 5:24/km, as it's my first speedwork for a few weeks.

The Scribbler
Ran a couple of easy miles this morning before work. Finding it incredibly hard to engage with anything at the moment, so calling it a win that I got out of bed, into running kit and out. Hoping that as it gets lighter, I'll find it easier.

Well done Scribbler - I hope your cough/cold is feeling better. It's really tough getting back into things, especially in the dark and cold.
Well done Evangel.

Got out again today and did 5 miles. I'm well up on my mileage at the moment. Fingers crossed it lasts. It's feeling good at the moment so I just need to keep being consistent!

Welcome TQ and RR, good luck with your targets for 2019.

Well done Scribbler and PenW, hope you manage to keep logging the miles.

A good day for me today, completed a major job at work, took my wife to her pain therapy appointment (a few brownie points hopefully ๐Ÿ˜‚) and managed a 6.72 mile run while I waited for her to finish. Managed some consistent pacing sub 9.30 min miles. Very pleased with progress to date ๐Ÿ˜€

Great stuff guys, long may good running continue! Welcome RR

Today I am (dare I say) almost feeling well debating whether to do running club tomorrow or be sensible have a few more days off (feel like Sundayโ€™s run wrecked me yesterday again) and do SportFit Thursday and attempt parkrun + run there and back on Saturday. Itโ€™s hard being sensible.

Morning - great running SV runner!

GG - agree, it is hard being sensible, but you may be better and be able to do more in the long run?

I ran most of the way home from work last night - my first run of more than 4.5 miles in as long as I can remember. And I don't even feel too broken this morning...!

About This Thread

Maintained by geordiegirl
*EDIT* in the current situation we are not entering races but I think we can still log any plans we may have over the coming months, whether it is learning a new skill, ticking jobs off a list, moving house(!), doing alternative exercise, aiming for training hours instead of miles, writing to family & friends, finding inventive ways to be together virtually or even entering virus races please fill in the planner and Iโ€™ll update this thread and keep our little social group going to share our goals.

Everyone is welcome, whether you don't want to set an official target or you may be aiming further but still want to pop by for a chat/offer some words of wisdom or just because the door is always open and kettle is on.

If you update the race planner after I've updated the header drop me an fmail or a reminder (or 2) on the thread so I know to update. Thanks
