Vancouver Jogger
As someone who usually runs at about 6am I've just found myself getting back in the dark rather than going out in the dark - anyway you don't need to know that. But I did finally get to listen to the poo emergency episode. Fortunately there weren't any. Poo emergencies.

#36 Just thinking back to schooldays and when PE masters wanted an easy lesson. They had us literally bowling at a single stump, or at a cricket ball on the ground. We'd be in groups of about 6 - after bowling, you had to go down the other end, act as wicketkeeper, then run back and do it all over again. Literally. The PE master was typically (even literally?) in the pavilion, smoking & drinking coffee. It must have been a standard approach, because a few years later, the tennis PE person had us doing the same (serving at a single tennis ball) in groups, and then switching ends to repeat. Hope the nets go well and the bowling improves ... |

HowFar?
I used to enjoy going to some local nets and just bowling at whatever had been left around. Sometimes they had some of those metal wickets on springs, but more usually it would have to be a bin or something. It must be over 10 years since I tried bowling. I imagine it would take a while to get the line and length any way decent, but I’d like to think I would manage not to bowl it so short that I’d be able to combine bowling and catching practice in the same delivery.

Elsie Too
I laughed out loud on my run listening to the description of catching it yourself.

I was in gym and did a proper splurt when I heard your enquiry about what I meant by "lesser of 2 evils" and Katie's incredulous explanation! Full description in blog with pictures (not pictures of *that*!!) in this very Fetchland from way back in 2012. Entitled "Doing a Paula". And yes, Katie was *mostly* right. fetcheveryone.com/blog/13263/2012/10#blog278237 I do love the podcasts. G |

I could get by without *quite* so many references to various natural bodily functions. Just saying. |

I must admit to laughing at getting a “caught and bowled” without troubling a batsman.

Katie very kindly didn't mention the idiot assistant coach suggesting someone move into the next lane to reduce the crowding. Go back Katie! For my sins I'm going to try it next Saturday.
