For the front light I use a 700 lumen light on a remote cycle path where the nearest street light is about 2 miles away i.e it is completely black. And 700 is enough. Of course you may be able to use the light at different setting - not full power all the time

How long does the battery last at full power ?

I have 2m of no lights out of 4.5!

So less than 30 mins although I used to occasionally add miles.

This may give you an idea of how many lumens would be suitable for the type of riding you do wiggle.co.uk

1,600 lumens is probably far too much unless you ride in pitch dark, I'd have thought no more than 800. Like your Halfords example, you'd be best with one that has multiple settings, a remaining charge indicator, and USB charging (you need just the charging cable rather a plug). QR attachment, which clamps onto your handlebar rather than using straps so it doesn't move.

For an extra touch, a few lights can swivel a little so you can point them away from oncoming traffic so you don't dazzle them.

Hope you find a light to suit you.

I’ve got the 1000 lumen version (only because the 1600 was sold out 🤨) and it seems pretty good. Plenty of lighting level choices and battery life is good for at least 4 hours on a range of “brighter” settings. And I do ride in the pitchest of pitch black... I’ll get back to you when I know the exact time
