With thanks to the organisers, I've just got hold of a place at the Draycote Water 20 on September 23rd - it's more-or-less ideal timing for my crack at Abingdon in October. They also have a 10 mile race happening on the same day (Draycote is about 5 miles round, so the 10 is two laps).

I was thinking it might be nice to have a bit of a social at The Dun Cow pub in nearby Dunchurch (just a mile or so down the road from DW). We've had plenty of Fetch meet-ups there before now, and the food is decent.

If you're up for it, here are the links to the race entry:

Pass me the time-turner, please. I'm doing the Belfast half that day, and if I wasn't I'd be doing the Great Cumbrian Run and a bike sportive.

I hope you have a fantastic party.

Pencils the 10 onto the calendar - might fit well for me as a trial pre-GER, it's definitely time we had another Draycote social :)

Very tempted, but need to wait until after Thursday when I'll know who I've got to take to which university when!

The 10 looks tempting if you could just persuade my oh not to go out cycling and take ds to rugby for me :-)

Rugby the game, not the place. The place would obviously be very convenient.

I can’t run 10 or 20 but I can do support and do the pub afterwards :)

I have also bunged an entry in for the 20, as prep for Abingdon M. Although, obviously, it's all subject to my amazing ability to get injured in the week or two prior to a big event. This year I've adopted a more relaxed devil-may-care approach to my running and will be hoping this pays off. Fetchpoint flowers count as training, right?

Fingers crossed.

I'm unlikely to run any further than one lap (if that) but will be doing support and pub and driving an exhausted affleete. :-)
