Good work Northern! :-) Your keeping my spirits up today knowing we "can"!

I've been watching some cool christmas history things while I am in my poorly sausage world... one just now reminded me I want to start a new tradition - linked to 12th night - we're so sad and low when the decs come down but actually we ought to turn it around and celebrate the "new" of a whole new year to play with

This weekend I "CAN" concentrate on resting and getting properly better

I have retained the streak, not to anyone's delight I might say but a mile is a mile is a mile... tomorrow I am going to go swimming hopefully and as I get better my plan is to work out how to do that slowly and really get my immune system back in order over this year

Weight wise I want to start to progress... and stop that mental place where it feels like an impossible task - it's not - not at all - but wellbeing and step by step approach with you lovely lot for support is the way ahead

Morning! Bit of a fail from me this weekend on the running front, despite best intentions. I was single-parenting while himself was at a karate competition, so didn't manage to get out for a run as it was too windy for the Biscuit to come out on her scooter - think she'd have got blown over!

Still trying to figure out how I can actually properly fit this into life now...,

I hear you on the weight think FRU - I've got so much to lose I can't even really get my head around starting...but small steps are the way to go. That and getting off my lardy arse!

What race is it you're doing in Pateley NSC? Not that I'm in any fit state for racing at the moment, but just for future reference given its just oop t'road.

Well.... I think I now go from poorly sausage to poorly chorizo - more aged with a definite wrinkly saggier exterior looking alot like it needs a blast of moisturiser :-)

This week the dear virus brought forth a great bought of vomiting followed by an all day migraine - urgh!! Please let it end

This next bit is a bit long and very selfish - bear with me! :-)

In "Can" news
- A new mattress and bedding arrived today - YEY
- Back to work today... start of new plans for a Thursday gym meet with a colleague to "spin" - that's a big YEY as it will keep me busy Thursdays and away from bad eating and wine - planning to start next Thursday by the might of "Can " I must be better by then

I feel this next phase is about accepting, and not trying to change everything in one foul swoop... and like for you Treacle 100% about the now... and the limitations and realistic things we can achieve

I still see myself bounding over the hills and bog of Yorkshireman like a sleek gazelle, and that is something I need to get hold of and work to make happen... it wont happen tomorrow - however short term I can think about what could help me acquire that

- water water water water... that's got to be our number one CAN
Having the migraine this week (I also had one sunday) reminded me water is my best friend and I have been careless with it for ages now

- winter training plan! Who knew!! LOL... it dawned on me that Dec, Jan and Feb I may now be liable to picking up bugs because our busiest work time is Nov & Dec and we're knackered mentally and physically by Christmas leaving us open to picking up all sorts SO why not work WITH that.. I could then concentrate on indoor gym based stuff and avoid the extreme of cold/warm... and do 3 outdoor runs instead of trying to stay outdoors when my immune system is obvioulsy at it's lowest

- Diet... how do I get myself eating in the right way... this goes a little off the "can" positive only rule but I want to explore how is it I get back on a straight and narrow? I'm really over blaming the menopause now, even though it was 100% a "Thing" during the last few months I feel like I ought to just get on with it now.. it's a hard knock on us, always, I know my training needs to improve, and shake up by doing other things than just running - it's also my own attitude to food & drink that needs a shake up

- Drink drink drink drink drink drink... Observing this weekend - we walked into town Sunday as we'd not been anywhere because I was just feeling YAK.. had a nosey in a few shops then trotted towards home.. into the pub - I had two diet cokes and enjoyed them. This week I couldnt have a drink if I tried today as still just off "OK" - his nibs has some wine.. I've sparkly water... small steps - I downloaded an app at christmas - it was rubbish so I deleted it - it was about non drinking days.. needs some thought and actively choosing not to drink and enjoying not doing so..

- Dear diary - have to get this back into action. A focus - a fresh page each day

Selfish hour over

How are you all?

Treacle.. finding the way is ruled by the want to.. and the "can". Thinking about what you can do, easily might be the first step

Scooting is ace for the kids, even if your little lady might scoot 1/2mile she could do it with you jogging? Something you do together? I know it's not ideal but could be fun

I joined the gym down the road that I have to drive past on my way to and from work.. and 1 mile from our house - convenient and always there in your face! LOL!

I think also when you have a young family it's hard to get the time you need yourself.. that's about some teamwork with the other half I guess and working out how to get it

I'm kind of lurking/squibbing out the rest of this week with me little sad sausage poorly quiet face on looking very pale and grey... just want to feel more like I'm on the mend and then I want to kick "CAN" right back into action

I know some of the rest of you are having the winter blue's flu's and other such YAKNESS but we got our groove on over the Autumn so there's 100% no reason we cant again

Poor you FRU :(

Had a long weekend off work with Dave and we fell off the straight and narrow big style!
But we enjoyed ourselves, it’s just been a bit more difficult getting back on it

Didn’t run yesterday lunchtime, was properly knackered and flip top head yawning

But today was a day off and as I was going in for a meeting I did a 5 mile run up to roundhay park before :)

This week I Can:
Drink more water
Eat within MFP allowance
Run another 2 times

:)

Treacle, it’s a Grim Up North race, different distances but a *pie* and a pint whatever distance you do ;) link to website in my race portfolio

There’s a few of us from work doing it

I could do with a cannap now :-)

Poor you FRU - sounds like a horrid lurg you've got. Sounds like rest is the best medicine for you at the moment.

I have come up with a new plan for the running stuff - have started running home from work - or at least part of the way and jumping on the bus for the rest. I feel much less guilty about taking the time to do it when its 'transport', not me going out for a run yet again.
Daft I know, but it seems to be working. Eventually I'll build up to running the whole 7 miles, but 4.75 was quite enough on Tuesday - may do a bit less tonight so I don't get broken. Will see.

That race in Pateley sounds great NSC! We will see if we can come and support :-)
