Nice work all! Planning to do day 2 of week 3 tomorrow - ended up not going for my run last night as I was knackered so ran this morning instead. Was planning to do my interval session tonight after work, but Mr Jenny now wants me to come to the physio with him (as he's a big wuss), so I'll have to do it tomorrow morning instead.

Some good suggestions for helping with the longer sessions - CW I like the 10 strokes hard and 10 recovery, also breaking it into 500s sounds a good idea Lammo. I've been finding I can keep focus for the first 2K and the last 1.5-2K, it's the bit in the middle where my concentration tends to drift. Muttley, I definitely need to be more organised and make sure I;ve got my own music to listen to - the stuff they play in the gym is dire!

Nellers, good luck with your pyramid session, sounds tough!

Also, I train at the gym and make sure i sit on a rower with a mirror in front of me.

1. Much better than staring at the wall, and

2. Much better than staring at the little screen watching the metres drift slowly along

3. Can look around the gym, when my mind inevitably needs a break

4. I can check, or notice, my posture and monitor my form.

Lammo, the gym that I am now trying to use most regularly does have a mirror in front of the rowing machines - it's not ideally postiioned, but I can see what I'm doing with my arms at least.

Did my first longer intervals session today 2 x 2000m with 4 mins rest. Was a bit disappointed with the pace (12:43 and 12:50), but I did feel pretty tired this morning. Think I need to work on my posture though - had a literal PITA afterwards and for much of the morning. I know it's an issue I sometimes have with running as well, but I've been doing loads of hamstring and glute stretching and strenghtening work, so I'm not sure if it's down to bad posture, or bad technique, or both.

Nothing for me yesterday. I felt a bit under the weather and man-fluey, no idea why because today all was fine. So was the weather, so I went for a lengthy slow plod along the trails and coastal path instead. Tomorrow I shall erg.

I did an Early Crew 10k yesterday and gritted my teeth to do my hated weights session last night. THis morning was about 6.5k working on smoothing out that force curve thing.

Tonight was the biggy. 4 x 2k/1.5k recovery. Aim was to keep the splits about 10 seconds slower than PB pace (better than 1:57s). Managed it with a bit to spare.

Bloody knackered now. Definitely ready for bed because I've got to redo that bloody Half Mara tomorrow!

That happens a lot on the Swim League pages. People get confused between m(iles) and m(etres) and log 1500 mile swims, leaping to the top of the league at a single (key(stroke)!

It always makes me smile.

I might be wrong though. Perhaps Jenny has just discovered her Kryptonian heritage.;-)
