I bought one of the 30p bags for sprouts - everything else goes in loose and I have to argue with the checkout staff not to then put it in bags for me!

yes JRitchie, I agree "Going from supermarket to local milk bottle/milkman deliveries takes out huge part of the supply chain process from farm to doorstep... so I read.. and should therefore significantly reduce the miles that milk is on the road."
and the bottles aren't taken back very far to be washed and reused either - but that article was talking about Sainsburys swapping to plastic, or thinning the plastic for things like cooking oil and washing liquids as well as milk - and they are transported miles and miles by road.

I buy most things loose...and since I do self-checkout, I don't need to argue with anyone. A nearby farm shop has paper bags for produce and operated that way for years.

I have the choice of buying glass bottle milk from milkman, from who knows where, or milk from a very local farm, via a very local independent shop, but in plastic bottles. Staying with the local but plastic option for now, which also has the benefit of not being homogenised.

If anyone uses milkandmore.co.uk, I am about to place my first order in the next day or two if they want to do a referral code (it just gives you a fiver off next order)

Does anyone use a collapsible reusable coffee cup they would recommend? Stojo seems to be the favourite at the minute from the research I've done but it does get some bad reviews about stability and having a plastic taste that doesn't go away.
