Aww, twinny baby newts!
I bought some newt plants for the roof terrace at our second house. Just need to find some large planters which aren’t too heavy to carry up a tiny staircase now!

Fleecy I bought some pots last summer which look like terracotta but are something called fibreclay which is *much* lighter than actual terracotta.

HP they can't reinstall them because of the lining needed for the stove but I think I'll get a box display case and put them in that.

One other nice thing about this work is that the new fire surround has a little silver 'coin' embedded in the limestone, out of sight once it's installed. The firm puts it there for two reasons - one to prove that it's a genuine Chesneys fireplace, (apparently they don't put the image of the coin on the net so it can't be faked) and the other as their 'luck' to accompany the fireplace.

I suppose there's a lot of folklore about fires, chimneys and sweeps - OH's nephew had a chimney sweep at his wedding, when they came out of church, which seemed like a nice mix of Christian and pagan :-)

hmm, they had some of those at the garden centre but I didn't like them, they either had ultra modern ones or OTT ones with bows and shit on them. I need to keep looking I think.

Aw so tiny. I hope they and your sister are doing well.

I ran somewhere new today - down one side of the Severn, across bridge and then back up the other side.

Lovely news hp. Hope they are all doing well.

Bit of a mundane newt for me today but I visited a hospital that I have never visited before and less mundane, also saw a lady walking a HUGE great dane around the complex...my visit wasn't for any medical reasons (at least not my medical reasons!)

Ooh teeny tiny babies - but they'll grow! If they're 10 weeks early that's actually a pretty reasonable weight I guess. Son1 was only 5lbs 12oz at full term!

Newt chicken recipe tonight, which included roasting new potatoes. Never done that before. It was scrumptious but I think I eat too much. Anyone else cook a recipe to serve 4 and end up eating well over half the thing between 2?
