Jono.
good news all round Gobi & Jen

The Mersey was on the flood this morning with a string prevailing wind, a few white horses. One small coaster beating her way down the river -seaward.

Well done Jenny, getting there with the 5ks, cracking time.

Nice to have you back Gobi, if you get bored with South Wales, feel free to potter up to North Wales and pace me in my HM on Saturday 😁

Bonners- I'm in the midlands and there was a time I would have done both. As it is I am pacing officially and have then agreed to drop my kit and run back out to bring a friend in the last few miles.

Possibly Fenners - my fastest 5K times last year came during marathon training; this year I didn’t really get the chance to race any 5Ks during marathon training, but I suspect it’s helped. Starting training for Eryri soon, so hoping that may help with my times over shorter distances too.

I find that too jennyh, one of the lovely members of this thread (can't remember who) said it's down to all the miles put in over the training period. Weird that all those hours of steady plod make you faster :-)

I'm looking forward to the Round Sheffield run on Sunday, not racing it this year as I didn't enter early enough for a place. Running with a mate who did get in to keep her company. I may have to steal a bag of Monster Munch at the end from the goodie bag area!

How does that not surprise me Gobi😀 Enjoy your HM and a half of pacing in Swansea.

Re comments on mileage and 5ks,my training is very haphazard and not doing marathon training yet, however it seems little coincidence that I've finally cracked 20 minutes for 5k on massively increased mileage.
