Geordie, it is not always just a matter of "trying harder". Think about what didn't work and how you can address it but don't beat yourself up. Maybe you just need to add a few more seconds. (My intervals and threshold runs are WAY over par because I am running in daft conditions. I'm taking a Scottish parkrun on Saturday to find out if they worked anyway... watch this space.)

I meant I didn't get out, my life got overtaken by events.... my cousin persuaded me to go to church with her then didn't turn up... we then went out for a family meal I expected being home about 4 which I would then have gone out for 1/2hr as a reduced session but didn't get home until 8.20! it was one of those days.

My week didn't officially start until Wednesday so I might attempt to get up early and do a short interval session before work tomorrow.

Thank you :) and good luck on Saturday

meh, that's why it is called project joker. Play a joker and move on.

It's like dieting. If you worry about the one day you went " over" then it all seems to crumble.

Thanks ITG, it is true I will do my joker face and move on (and remember its not a formal requirement it is supposed to be something that helps me to keep my running fun)

The Scribbler
It was so windy at parkrun on Saturday I didn't think it was fair to judge any Project Joker improvement from that run, so I'm going to try again next week.
One thing I have improved at is doing intervals at a faster pace. I just uploaded today's run, and thanks to Fetch I know I improved on the last time I did it in December even with one interval set a bit slower because I had to do a pit stop on a rest period and wasn't quite ready to run when my watch beeped!

The Scribbler
I gave my Joker run a shot at Newcastle parkrun today. Slightly scuppered by a slow start due to a very big turn out, but that may have helped me later on. Anyway I reckon I improved my time by about 6 seconds. I was hoping for more but Fetch predicts I can do a 32:32 which is something to aim for as I roll round for another go.

I think this time I’ll try to get a few more long slow runs in.

Well done Scribbler at least you can see and feel some improvement. Good luck for your next round.
